Nope it's all together. In the games where Deebo and Trent were out he couldnt do much of anything. Trent is their best run blocker by far and it was a steep drop off when he got hurt

For me it’s not just the road vs home for me it’s also the lack of quality wins against good teams. For me I can’t trust the Cowboy’s because unless they win the division they would have to win 3 straight playoff games on the road which I don’t believe will happen

I look at it like this. If you failed your 1st 4 tests, but got a B or an A on the 5th, you start to think that maybe something is clicking. Now you obviously need to see if you can sustain it for the 6th, 7th, 8th tests, but you can't until then, you gotta hope things might turn around.

The Niners instantly averaged a TD more a game with Purdy & CMC than Jimmy G and CMC. QB play does make a difference in this system.

CMC is great but if you put Rachaad White, Bijan or Gibbs in this offense. They create the same problems for defenses that CMC does.

I do find the question of wether Purdy would thrive in another offense kinda flawed because while the 49ers do have the best offensive system in the NFL close to half the league now has offenses based of the Shanahan system just with their different wrinkles. To me you could swap Stafford and Brock and both would still be incredibly successful. Obviously though what the 49ers can do with CMC is unique because they’re only a few RBs in history that can do what he can do at his level but in terms of importance the QB will still be more important especially when that QB is playing at a top 5 MVP level.

That is the same Question you find with any other QB in the league though....Every QB fits in a system made for them. Tom, Peyton, Brees, in a sense all system QBs. The coaches job is to take what a player is good at and build around that. Thats what makes a good coach a great coach. I do believe if you put Purdy in KC he would thrive, i do believe if he was in Carolina he would fail same with Mahomes, same with Rodgers. The 49ers saw something in him and gave him a shot and like a Underdog he took what he was given and rode with it. It is very annoying how people say that any QB can succeed with those weapons...If that were true why didnt Trey lance who was seen as a much better prospect or Jimmy G who was suppose to be the guy to replace Brady in NE. What makes Purdy Special now is how fast he is able to read the D he doesn't over think which as a NFL QB that is all it takes. Physically i say he is like Mahomes slow as shit but squirrely in the pocket.
@@demondesires865 Jimmy G did thrive in that system. He got all the way to the Super Bowl. The fact is the 49ers are dead last in the league in pass attempts. They don't rely on Brock to carry the team and that's obvious. Despite being last in pass attempts, they are 4th in the league in yards after catch. Despite being last in pass attempts, he's 11th in play action pass attempts. More than any other QB in the league, he's throwing against defenses trying to stop the run.
And those defenses have to stop the run, because the 49ers are usually playing with a lead partially thanks to their defense that is 2nd in least points allowed. You can't play bend but don't break when you are behind, because you can't allow your opponent to run out the clock.
I think Brock Purdy is really good, but he's not best QB in the NFL good. He's very good, but not elite.
@@nathannewman6555 no one thinks he’s the clear cut best QB in terms of overall talent but can’t deny either that he’s playing like a top 5 QB. This also becomes an argument about how we define an elite QB and how many of those are in the NFL. From my point of view the though the 49ers don’t throw the ball a lot because they are a balanced team and pretty much perfectly balanced. They’re also more often than not hyper efficient when they either throw or run the ball. They rely on Purdy a lot for them to stay on schedule and have the right timing so the ball is placed accurately. This is also only Purdy’s second year in the league. Theoretically he still has a lot of room to grow and gain greater command of the offense so whether he’s elite now or not he has the opportunity to become elite.

I would just like to say, in the NFC championship game when Brock was hurt on the first drive of the game, Josh Johnson played two quarters before he got hurt. The score was 21-7 once Johnson got hurt in the third quarter. Why couldn’t CMC lift the team when he had a QB for two quarters. Everyone acts like if Johnson wasn’t hurt, there would be a two touchdown comeback in the end of the half😂
Purdy is a good quarterbacks but we have also seen him without Debo and CMC and they looked bad so the argument can go both ways.
@@craigb2332 Yes, without Deebo or Trent Williams (or CMC if you consider the second half of the Browns game), the 49ers went on a three game losing streak.
However, it's unfair to make an entire assessment on Brock Purdy by blindly saying they had a three game losing streak and saying it's entirely his fault.
Against the Browns, without Deebo, Trent, or CMC, Brock drove down the field and put his team within a 40yd field goal the kicker missed.
You also have to take into account he was concussed for at least one of the games.
CMC had a bad fumble near the endzone against the Vikings. The defense played horribly against the Vikings and Bengals.
Did we not just see Jalen Hurts go 0-3 without any injuries to his offense? Brock didn't have his WR1, star O-lineman (or RB against the Browns in second half)... Does that mean QBs can't play bad ever to be considered good?
Um... CMC was already entrenched as the RB when Purdy started. Shannon hard to value your "facts" when you can't even keep the basics straight. And actually Dan, that was a broken play. CMC and Purdy both have said so.

I think if we want to be objective about the niners, it’s a team sport and they’re a complete team. Everyone on that roster elevates each other. CMC wouldn’t be able to run so free without the threat of Purdy going deep and vice versa, everyone helps each other become great, as all great teams in sports do.

Sunday and Monday are going to tell the story for a lot of these teams. Dallas is a pass defense, can’t do shit against the run. Miami is a passing team. I still haven’t seen Purdy play well without the lead. Everyone talking about the running back and the QB and RB when everyone knows that without Big Trent none of that shit is happening. When the kid is pressing without the lead he’s average at best.

The Bills loss was bad, but for all the "Miami can't beat good teams" the others were 1-score games where Miami had the ball to tie or win in the last minute. That's about late game execution and good/bad luck more than it is about them being inferior. Hearing a headline you like and repeating it instead of actually analyzing is lazy by Shannon and the other take artists floating around.
The reason Dallas will never advance beyond a good season and maybe one playoff game is because of Jerry Jones. He is holding this team back as has been for the past 28 yrs. The culture in Dallas is wrong. The priorities are wrong and their work ethic is wrong. The only thing that will fix it is for Jerry to get out of the way meaning hire a real GM with experience, bring in a coach who will demand accountability and players who are tough and focused, the opposite of who they have now. Finally upgrade the QB position. This is the only way to prosperity.
