It seems like common sense, but I am so glad you said that you should not use staples or nails. Thanks for the helpful video!

This was brilliant! I was also afraid of using staples because of my cats' claws. Great tips all around, thank you!

Thanks Pappy! My go-to for all my cat projects is hot glue. It's inert and kitty-cat-safe! People have been asking about a PVC cat tower, so I will experiment with liquid nails (which feels like it will be messy) I will find out if that works well. Good luck, and thanks for watching and leaving a comment!

Thank you! That scratching post is still going strong. When you wrap the sisal rope tight it lasts so much longer than the original. Thanks for leaving a comment and watching!

Would you know how to fix broken cat tree poles? I did mine with pvc. And a threaded rod + insert, did an mdf insert inside the tube and brad nailed it. Broke allot of the pvc and when I moved allot of poles broke off

Hey thanks for the question, broken PVC is a difficult fix. Usually when PVC is broken only solution is to replace it. That's usually because the pipe is moving water and not cats. lol Another concern is if you were to fix it would be overall strength of the tower. So below are two options.
If you want try and fix it these two glues might work Loctite Super Glue Plastics Bonding System ( amzn.to/3rCQHXQ ) or Gorilla Super Glue Gel ( amzn.to/2YZxWSd ) I've used both brands before not these types but they overall are good quality products.
If you did want to replace the PVC I'd recommend drilling some pilot holes about the same size as your screws. This way you won't put extra pressure screwing through the new pipes.
      Hope this helps!

@@DIYXplorer thanks man I replaced the pvc pipes today and made some new insert blocks. It’s 7 feet tall 4 feet wide by 2 feet and she has 6 rooms another 6 platforms a swing, stairs/ladder, 2 holes to move around through, and a deck. It wheighs about 300lbs. I wanted it to be portable but that’s just not possible. As I was fixing it it occurredi need to re design the way it’s jointed. A single 1/4”threaded rod is not justifiable to support that kind of structure. So I’m screwing / gluing the inserts for the tubes to the body. And screwing the tubes to the inserts. Got half them done. The other half was still intact. Gonna have to change the rest next time it’s moved. She is happy it’s been 3 months now since she had her cat tree. She was mad I put building 3d dragon wood cabinets before fixing that lol thanks again for the advice keep up the good videos

What SIZE sisal rope do you recommend--diameter?

Pamela - I've used anything from 1/4 inch and up. Thicker does last longer. 3/8 in 100 foot length is what I use most of the time now. You can buy it here: amzn.to/3WgeXRT
