But you don’t want this setting turned on when flying in manual. It adds electronic image stabilization to the roll axis which doesn’t look good when you are flying freestyle.
if I have a problem from something that I can take care of I watch a couple videos and is done there's a lot of information out there I have 3 Drone's and I never have problems with it thank you Billy for your info

Great points Billy I'm a MA2 flyer so i get everything you mention but the fpv drone isn't a Mavic so people need to be aware it's not the same the experience is completely different and from a user's perspective its amazing fun, way more fun than my MA2 but again different machines for different purposes, for me the motion controller is the star of the show, absolutely fantastic experience and so intuitive my 10 year old son was ripping it in sport mode with ease, you reckon you can dive using the motion controller Billy?

DJI FPV drone was meant to give their GPS drone customers an experience with flying a First Person View drone as seen from wearing goggles. THATS IT! Videos, photos, and acrobatic flying was not the purpose of this drone and takes a FAR BACKSEAT to that main purpose of giving DJI’s customers the experience from flying FPV from the goggles. I have DJI’s FPV drone and to that purpose I am happy with it. If I want photos and videos to use and share, I fly my Mavic 2 Pro. If I want acrobatic flying and or cinematic videos I’ll use an FPV and or a cinewhoop kit drone for much cheaper.
Some people seem to just buy anything DJI comes out with and THEN start to work on "does it fit my needs ?" I wish I had the time & money for that kind of first world problems :'D
Very well explained. This drone is an FPV drone with GPS features, excelent for long range goggle adventures and/or acrobatic flight (while still providing a very nice image without needing a traditional action cam mounted on the drone). All these complains are actually design features that form part of the compromise in bringing these two drone worlds into one fusion of an aircraft.

I sold my DJI FPV because of it not having a real disarm switch. a csc command is not a "kill switch" just too dangerous, mine hit a branch, flipped out and flew 300 yards into the woods and destroyed itself. all while I was tapping the stop start button... problem was I had hit pause before it hit the branch.... I didn't have the csc command enabled, it was in default config. poor design, even worse customer service. but soo close to being GREAT. if it had a disarm switch, I might buy 2, as just a casual cruiser. the Return to Home H in the UI is a game changer. Occusync 3 is game changer. for the casual flier, even the battery form factor makes sense. the arms should be user swappable in 5 minutes. just need mr30 connectors and connect the arms with 3 screws.. those landing legs are designed to break too... they need to disconnect more gracefully... so it's a rich boy toy... buy 2 and fly the other while the one is in the shop... If you just want to swipe a credit card and get 95% of the sport. buy the kit, and extra quad, 2 fly more, & car charger, nd filter + misc... $1300 + 750 + 600 + 250 = less than 3k and Done... I've spent way more on Custom quads. i have 5 quads each over 500 and 20 + lipos + ++ ++++ .... if it just had a Disarm....
I like the dji fpv because its an fpv drone with gps ability. I came from ciniwhoop fpv flying in the first place. I would recommend anyone who gets sick on boats , planes or cars to stay away from this type of drone. anyone who only wants that stabilized video where you motion track your subject, don't buy this drone its just not built for that. this drone is for people looking for action video, dives, up close tracking of object in motion, fly throughs etc. The only thing I wish this drone had was a full carbon fiber body so it could survive crashes better. dJI is going to make their real money on parts for this thing.
I'm coming from no drone at all, this is my first drone. I really don't care about any of this camera stuff, what's in or not in frame I know it's not a camera drone. My biggest complain is there's no HUD display for attitude in the goggle, if you're looking straight into the sky for some reason you won't know your current speed or angles, you need the horizon in sight at all times to really know what you're doing.
If I had of known the absolutely horrible fit of the goggles I would’ve never bought this, now I’m stuck with it so hopefully I’ll learn to live with it

This is an FPV drone... Intended for speed and video but DJI made it possible to implement photos so I will request more photo options because sometimes we are in a nice spot and the ability to hover makes it perfect for some photo options like HDR or RAW files. I love flying my FPV Drone. I agree with everything you said. I do not find any of the issues mentioned a problem for me. I understand what the drone is intended for. My Mavic 2 Zoom is the camera drone. However, it is no where near as fun to fly. I wish I could have a Mavic with these goggles.
I'm a pure FPV Pilot and builder and thank you for understanding what this drone is made for and flying it in that manner 👍🏻. I bought a P3 Standard back in early 2016 and after a few months of flying it I got bored of just flying around and I met a guy at the park flying a FPV drone and I was like "That's what I need!". So immediately starting buying all the parts and radio as well as goggles and started the very steep learning curve of everything since this was the first real RC anything I have ever had. Well almost 5 years later and I'm still just as thrilled as the first day seeing that guy fly 1ft off the ground at 65mph. Since you have both styles of DJI drones you should jump into FPV and experience the hobby building side of it and to learn exactly how these things are built tuned and repaired... It's truly a fantastic thing to fly the thing you built with your own hands.
@@smooth_ops2942 Believe or not I am an RC pilot. LOS that is. Back in 2012 I started with a coaxial helicopter. The famous Syma 107. After a period of time I was building my own helicopter. I ended up with Goblins and an Align 550X. I know the joy of building and flying. I also know the sadness of crashing and fixing in the early days. Over that time I built many multi-rotors. It love LOS flying for helicopters. My style is scale flight. Let me encourage anyone to try building, it is fun and rewarding. Yes, it has a steep learning curve, but it is worth it.

Helis look so fun but at the same time horrifying at the sound and RPM of those blades punching threw the air and also that one crash could cost 300+ everytime. I think that you should talk about the fact that if you bind this to any of the air units you own. You have to remind everytime you switch back to the Dji drone. I bought this instead of the Mavic this time and sold my v1 goggles. Never would've bought this if I would've known
I've been flying fpv with DJI drones since phantom 2.... I have a mavic pro that I fly with the DJI goggles on sports mode but it's so much different flying the FPV drone. Even on normal mode it feels faster and more responsive than the mavic. It's like I'm starting over😆
Great video Billy.. have you heard of any issues regarding video problems from SD card to computer or laptop..? I put my drones SD card in the goggles & playing back the video no problem, but it won't play in a computer, no video..?
@@AerRider I did try another card, same thing is going on, even in another friends laptop same thing..No video just audio..? But like I said when I take that same sd card put it in the goggles sd card slot it has no problem playing..? Weird..! Wondering if maybe these laptops I'm trying to play the video on are just to old or under powered, maybe I need a 4K computer to play 4K/60 drone video..?
@@robripingill4897 I had the opposite. My goggles card would complain and the files were empty of video. Swapped the card with the drone card and repaired both. So far so good. Good luck with it.

There's also a setting for the camera that crops out the props from view while flying. No need to do so post processing.
Record in 1080p cuts em out too

There are settings that you can change on your goggles to remove the propellers in your video
Had this drone for a month now and It has definitely grown on me. For someone who knows nothing about FPV, Much more educated on the subject.

One more issue. Recording only record up to 3:17 minutes 🤬 then it records another one. Then in post edit you need to stitch it together 🤬

i fly full manual with my dji fpv drone in 10mph wind for more than 8 minutes on one battery easily, often up to 12.

You can cut the props out using settings in the drone... options are camera or goggles or both..

Rob, try another card. Try repairing the card in Windows.
