I've got to say that he is an amazing singer. They could have been famous worldwide but the sad reality is it is so hard to penetrate international market because of competition. The English speaking countries like UK, US, Canada and Australia dictate what it takes to be an international artist. IThere is still discrimination against talented Asians with the exception of the K-Pop. In the UK for instance, there are so many non-Brits who tried to penetrate its music industry but I can feel that the British people are still not ready for it and they are so protective of their own talents. It is unfair because there are so many talented singers out there that are not given fair chances. But I strongly believe that one day the attitude about it will change for the better.
I understand what you're saying, but in the Philippines, not every artist would want to be "boxed", so that you would hear many filipino artists who can do ballads and other genres. That's how talented they are :) Thanks for the great observation!
