A few suggestions cause honestly I like your idea here, plus I grew up along Lake Erie also (Conneaut, Andover, Huntsburg, Cleveland, Strongsville, Lakewood and Rocky River), and it was awesome seeing the few differences since moving to Florida 11 years ago.
The background soundtrack needs to disappear. I can say more about it, but I'll keep my to myself lol.
Obviously wipers but use Rainex to treat your window and it'll make your blades last longer, no noise when dry, and a clearer view.
Show a big highlight of each town/city as you're going through.
Sounds like you have a nice voice, so invest in a quality microphone and talk a little more.
As you do more, if you continue research lens upgrades. Even with a phone, they have options.
The background noise was really the only complaint. The other stuff is just to help you grow if that's the plan.
Godspeed and safe travels, Bob/ Aripeka, FL

Hi Bob, Thanks for your comments and suggestions! I'll keep them in mind as we go forward.
I was speaking a lot more on the road in the Minnesota/North Dakota series but sound quality and volume can vary a lot while driving, which was giving me fits in the editing process. I film on a GoPro rather than a phone. For the current series, most of my comments are made in my studio at home using a professional mic. Not only does it allow for better control over the comment volume, It also allows for comment editing, which helps me avoid rambling on too much. As always, it's a continuous balancing act to see what works, and while I have a lot of broadcasting/podcasting experience, this gig is new to me, so I'm learning new stuff all the time.
The wiper noise was annoying to me also. It was also a surprise, as it hasn't been an issue with the other vehicles I've used (I don't own a vehicle, but use rentals), and thankfully wasn't much of an issue following this episode.
Comment noted on the music soundtrack. I hope other subscribers will also chime in with their thoughts. I'm open to just having raw ambient sounds as I do with my walking/hiking videos, but always worry about long periods of time with just road ambience. Some people might find that too boring.
Once again, thanks for the comment, and hope you keep watching!

I fished the break wall at Edgewater Park, The Edgewater Yacht Club, and traveled Clifton Blvd into Lakewood 😏
