I’ve never really worked on painting models, so I’m not sure if it require a super bright light, but as you can adjust the lamp to get pretty close, I would imagine it has more than enough brightness to work. I imagine you tend to need a lamp with a built in magnifying glass too right?
Surprisingly good review! Can anyone who tried / owns this lamp tell me, how are the materials / construction with regards to resonance? I'm getting rid of my lamp, as it was resonating frequently while listening to music, so I would like my next lamp to be quiet and "resonance-free".
When you mention resonating, is your lamp vibrating to the extent it’s creating some sort of tone or buzz? I can try the lamp out alongside some speakers and see how it fares, and let you know. As regards the build quality, I’ve found all Yeelight’s lamps are pretty well constructed. The only issue with this lamp is with the touch buttons being on the lamp head, which is also the part that ‘gives’ the most, unfortunately. Still, they are touch-sensitive, so you don’t need to use any real pressure, just a bit of accuracy.
I wish it worked, but where it’s located at present it wouldn’t get used anyway. I’ve got a couple of Aqara LED screen panels that also have proximity sensors, and they work really well.
Thanks Michael, Yeelight definitely take their lighting seriously, although I’m not sure the dual light sensors are the kind of thing you’ll find too often. The only thing they might want to look at is making their lamps work with Apple’s adaptive lighting feature.
@@homekitnews yeah I completely agree. It would be nice if the dual light sensors could set the lamp to the correct brightness automatically for the ambient light in the room, but then able to alter it say if someone comes in and turns a light on. I can see the benefits, imagine adaptive lighting setting the colour temperature and a dual light sensor able to set the exact brightness. All you’d need to do is switch it on and it would sort everything out!
I don't used this lamp for about a year. Now unboxed it again and cannot activate the silly human induction mode. I remember that when I used lamp at the first time, I've done some magic and this stupid "human induction indicator" finally turned ON, with a white light, and the "body detection" feature worked very well. But this time I had to reset the lamp, unfortunately, this setting was reset too. :(
Still can remember what exactly I've done when I bought this lamp a year ago. Something like putting fingers on light sensors or pressing to a "human induction switch" which I think is not a "switch" at all.
You might be able to buy it on places like GearBest, AliExpress or BangGood, but Yeelight don’t have it for sale in the US for some reason. Alternatively, it’s available in some European online stores with many offering international shipping. Yeelight have the details for stores on their website.
@@homekitnews thanks a lot!! I watch all your videos and then I buy HomeKit products! :) I still have a problem with my Aqara ac p3 when it is turned off by original remote I still see it as open in Aqara and home app! But I hope they fix it one day! Also do you know if Yeelight portable desk lamp is HomeKit enabled??
@@grigorischaralampopoulos4999 hi, maybe you can email us with your problems regarding the P3, so I can better understand the problem. As for the portable Yeelight lamp, I guess you mean the small one that has a built-in battery. I don’t think that one has any smart functions at all, so no HomeKit coming for that at all.
@@homekitnews thanks a lot!! The main problem is when you turn on ac with original remote in both Aqara and home app is shown as turned on (so far so good) but when you turn it off by the original remote it is still shown as turned on in the Aqara and home app! And I have connected the plug to the ac but not correct shown!
It depends on your particular use case I guess. I prefer the wide light design of the Yeelight, but I prefer the simplicity of the Mi Desk Lamp Pro. If I had to choose, I would probably go with the Yeelight for the extra features.
Terrible product. I struggle to power it on, and off. Despite being an MD and so having performed a few surgeries in my life, my technique is not worthy of this product. At best I get to turn it on 40% of the time and turn it off 30% of the time. Sometimes I just yank out the power supply.
@@homekitnews I can understand that, but IMO a review should show this in actual use and give the viewer an idea of how well the feature has been implemented... not just list off stuff from a spec sheet.
You stated there was nothing about adjusting the position of the lamp, which is not true, so I’m showing you that it is there. How I decided to show this is a different subject. If watching my hands move the different joints is something you would prefer to see, I can’t help you.

Excellent review. Thanks 😊
not sure if the light is strong enough for miniature painting, but what are your thoughts on that?

Hi does this come with both mounting options in the box
No, you only get one or the other l, depending on the one you order.

Human induction mode sounds like a brilliant concept, shame you couldn't get it to work though. Looks like a great lamp despite all of that though

Great video! I like the idea of the 2 light sensors, I can only assume this will turn into a popular new addition to the majority of light fittings

Ironically Yeelight didn't put this into their screenbar monitor light /facepalm

$76 here in Ukraine, was looking at it for months, still not sure where to place it, haha

Nothing about adjusting the position of the lamp in this review. Seems like a pretty glaring oversight in an otherwise excellent video.
Starting at 5’ 32”, it shows the different positions each joint of the lamp can be moved to.
