The shrekified phone is actually what I had to do at one point with mine. The camera was completely smashed, the speaker in the back had a big ol dent, and the backcase was replaced with just a wall of duct tape. All the buttons (rxcept for the home) were broken, so to turn it on, I needed to un-plug it repeatedly. In the end, it served me until the bitter end, when I had gotten my new phone.

If you don’t care how it looks at the end, the best way to fix a nano like that is to carefully make a relief cut with a dremel down one of the sides. After the fix, I filed the gap with fibreglass body filler, stuck a sick custom paint job on it and sold it to a friend.

Watching you mangle that 3rd generation touch makes me glad mine never had any issues. I got it for christmas back in 2010 and its still chugging along, the battery drains super duper quick but I just leave it plugged in all the time and I have the music I fall asleep to every night on it.

The shrekified phone is actually what I had to do at one point with mine. The camera was completely smashed, the speaker in the back had a big ol dent, and the backcase was replaced with just a wall of duct tape. All the buttons (rxcept for the home) were broken, so to turn it on, I needed to un-plug it repeatedly. In the end, it served me until the bitter end, when I had gotten my new phone.

If you don’t care how it looks at the end, the best way to fix a nano like that is to carefully make a relief cut with a dremel down one of the sides. After the fix, I filed the gap with fibreglass body filler, stuck a sick custom paint job on it and sold it to a friend.
A gigantic custom shell could be another way to save one of these.
Part of the sheer Pythonesque genius of this stuff is in the editing..You've got my money..now all I need is a 1 grit t-shirt

Watching you mangle that 3rd generation touch makes me glad mine never had any issues. I got it for christmas back in 2010 and its still chugging along, the battery drains super duper quick but I just leave it plugged in all the time and I have the music I fall asleep to every night on it.
