What a crook! It’s one thing to pay thousands to get medical help from people with degrees- and even that is tragic. But to just be a self proclaimed spiritual “guru” and charge thousands for “retreats”, it’s just disgusting. All I can think is there has to be some kind of mental illness to be able to do that to vulnerable people and still sleep at night.

33:40 and this story is exactly why this is irresponsible and dangerous. He cannot make these health claims. And I wish people would stfu about meds. Either take them or don’t, but not everyone wants to needlessly struggle. Stop telling people to stop taking their meds. Stop telling people there’s another solution when you’re woefully under qualified 🤦🏾‍♀️ this is why so many people think there is something fundamentally wrong with them when that’s simply not true. They just need to take their meds! And definitely not waste any money on the woo woo nonsense.
I could go on forever about this lol it boils my blood.

    Hi keya 👋👋
I'm so glad you're back, your lives are so much fun but they are always at around midnight for me. I will be watching tomorrow since I have a 3hr train journey 👌
I did my homework and watched the documentary Enlighten Us. At first this guy seemed like a POS but then it seemed more and more like he was mentally ill, with real delusions of grandeur and complete narcissism.
As always the most fascinating/depressing part is to see people be so easily manipulated... I wish everyone could have a healthy dose of skepticism and be taught to think critically, it would solve A LOT of problems that go well beyond the self help industry if you know what I mean 😒

Stephen KUH-vee, author of The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People, was LDS and a popular motivational speaker predating Tony Robbins. His company merged with Hyrum Smith's (another LDS "thought leader") company Franklin Planner, to create FranklinCovey, which is the company JAR claimed he worked for. In reality I'm guessing AT&T held a FranklinCovey seminar, where they walk you through their planners which is supposed to help you set and achieve goals using tools from the Seven Habits, The Eisenhower Grid, etc. (I had to sit through one of these once.) Anyway JAR probably attended the seminar and thought "I could do that" and decided to add to his resume that he taught those seminars, but didn't.

The essence of spirituality is leaving the ego behind. The title ‘Spiritual warrior’ is such a an ego oriented phrase, because you’re going to be a “warrior” You couldn’t make it up! What a paradox!!

I don't think he knows what the word "harbinger" means. Or what "literally" means. Also, he tries to sound so learned/educated, etc., but clearly had no idea that plenty of Baltic and Nordic European cultures also have sweat lodge traditions and it might, maybe, could've been more appropriate (and potentially SAFER) to go in that direction instead. Possibly. *sigh* Also, Keya, you rock! :)

James never said the secret cures cancer or blindness you did. First of all he was in the movie for a minute or two it was not his movie in 99% of his career had nothing to do with the secret also. If you would instead choose to look for all of the good he brought into the world you will find it. Ultimately he spoke the truth in a society that frowns upon that.

I have followed his work for over 15 years. If he is a republican that is disappointing. He was human he made many mistakes. His best work was right out of prison. The newer stuff wasn't that great. Sadly he deleted a lot of the good stuff from his TH-cam channel. Some of his work is really profound and fascinating. He was trying to teach how Michelangelo and Leonardo da Vinci thought to the masses. They breathed the same air that we breathe. I understand how someone who is not truly immersed in his work could be judgmental of him. That being said he was not perfect and at times he could be cocky. Personally I think some of his work is incredibly profound and probably the voice of God speaking directly to his fellow man.
