    Love, love, love your garden and your personality. Subscribed. Really love all the different areas in your garden. Gave me so many ideas. And while I understand your frustration with leaves, trust me (as someone who deals with many leaves in the garden), not only does it not take away from the beauty of your garden, the “imperfection” just makes it more natural and beautiful.

    A fence hack: get some 4’ pieces of rebar, spray paint them black & hammer into the ground in between each fence panel (after hooked together) & buy black zip ties & zip tie the fence panels to the rebar…that thing will not blow down… it will be solid. Of course leave that gate opening side free to swing open. ❤

    Your garden is lovely. I know it is hard work, but so rewarding. You have created a beautiful space for family life and something to inspire others as well. Your own tranquil zone. I also am a do it yourselfer, still at 76, although I can’t do as much as I would like to, I can’t quit and I drive my hubby crazy. He’s not as in love with it as I am lol.

    I think what you’re doing is wonderful. Your love for gardening and being creative really shows.🌷 I especially appreciate that you are making a garden by your inspiration, trial and Lots of hard work. I know, as I’ve been gardening/landscaping for over 40 years and it is a labour of love. Some have very pretty gardens who had someone else plan it and do most of the work and they just write a check. Not us.😊 Ours are original. It takes the patience of “Job” but is so very worth it. Thanks for sharing and God bless.🌻🪴🌷

    That wisteria will get very woodie it will take something like heavy duty iron to hold it up. It is a plant that roots continuously under ground. You will have it all over the place within a few years. I had mines for 10 year or better and had to dig them up.
    All over my just about an acre of property.. it’s beautiful but will smother other plants out. Just a little info for you. After digging it still took a while before I was able to get rid of all of it.

    • @PlantingLifeMatters
      @PlantingLifeMatters  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Cathy👋 Thanks for your feedback. What variety type of Wisteria did you have? I’m curious. Sounds like Chinese or Japanese, the more invasive species. Fortunately my Amethyst Falls Wisteria Vines is perfect for smaller gardens. This gorgeous flowering vine grows slightly slower than the Asian wisteria. It’s considered as a non-invasive vine. Thank you so much for sharing your experience. I will keep an eye on it for sure!

      @@PlantingLifeMatters really don’t remember, but this was over 30 years when I planted it. I wanted lots of pretty stuff in my yard. Well I love 💕 the grape like flowers so I purchased it. It was really beautiful for the first five years and like you I purchased a metal trellis but after a year or so it started bending and after about three years it had destroyed it. And the wisteria had started spreading all over the red tips. Well my husband stared digging one vine after another. After hurricane Rita it tore some of the trees and some of the plants also. But they slowly made their way back. But our last hurricane nearly 3 years ago took all the trees and a lot of the soil, so now we don’t have anymore. And my dear was happy to be rid of it. Just keep you eyes on them so they don’t destroy your beautiful garden. It is lovely.

    Wisteria can quickly spread and get out of control. Consider adding root barrier when you add concrete to trellis.

I now am dealing with cooler weather and lots of shade from Redwood trees. Also dealing with deer 🦌 and lots of wildlife eating my plants. A little frustrating. Roses with rose rosette should be removed immediately before it spreads to other roses. You can plant a clematis or anything else you like, up the arbor while the soil recovers and after a couple of years plant a new rose there. Grafted roses are very susceptible to diseases I found.

    I had an idea of how you could light the roof in your secret garden room. Get the blanket of lights that go on bushes.

    Hi I am new to your channel.You have a beautiful garden. You can lock in your pea gravel with mulch glue and it won’t scatter around. You spray it on with a sprayer and the glue washes out of the sprayer with water.
