    Interesting upgrade. As a side note, most vehicles today have several DC motors that are controlled in the same manor. Its obvious that they have a similar arrangement and I'm sure there is an off the shelf device for this.

    Have done this on my van and have to say brilliant when working . I put an inline fuse in as well but it keeps blowing the control er I used looks exactly the same but is rated at 10-63 v 20a would this be the problem .thanks. Del

    hello, do it work on the AC blower motor? what kind of the DC moter do you use for the replacement ?thanks

    • @vwthings
      @vwthings  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      It works on DC only. I used the same blower motor (12v)

      +jackbox thank you for the kind reply. AC ,here,means air conditioning.I have two blowers on rear ceiling of the van. Did the 12v motor you used is old one from vw or you buy a new 12v from aftermarket?

    • @vwthings
      @vwthings  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Old one. In that case you just need to make sure the controller you choose exceeds the amps being used for your blowers :) If you're not sure, you can buy a cheap watt meter on ebay that would tell you this.

      +jackbox thanks for your reply...I will try it out.

      it has two blowers 20A for each. What would be your suggestion using 50A PMW controller for twol or two 25A for each? I guess usign a watt meter is better for monitor. Thanks a lot

      @@vwthings I used the white wire as the earth on the earthing crown, is this correct? After Great effort of investigating I discovered that the 12v red black has been left loose near the battery

      DC 9V-60V 20A Pulse Width Modulator PWM Motor Speed Control Switch Controller uk on the bay - under 7 quid :) Listings change but has to be at least 20amp and controller on a flylead.

    Sorry there seems to be some confusion. 1) I asked you where you bought the small switch for the control and 2 ) where one wires it into the arduino. It would be a great help as I have the arduino but no switch or wiring diagrams. Thanks for replying before. Mike

      Never mentioned an Arduino :)

    Did you get any noise across your radio etc after fitting this. I'm tempted to do this for better control but from researching people seem to think they will chuck out a lot of EMF

      None whatsoever. The unit is screened anyway.
