After a painful night, many, many nights, I rose this morning and listened again to the mightily gifted composer from that great country of Russia. Thank you God for such wondrous help you leave us in this crazy, sinful, hard world. For a time I was not aware of the 24/7 pain and heartache, despite what the doctors strive to find & help me with. May this have such effect upon you, others.
At 80 years, full of pain, the mystery , for me, of why so long, et, then as I sit here listening to the great Tchaikovsky...Romeo & Juliet, the pain, mental strain subsides . Well, I do know why all things happen in the one true main sense, from Christ the Almighty. I am saying helps come from Another and I am so grateful. In this hard, cruel existence, we are given this music, that when a small boy raised in poverty, all else, I one day, very young somewhere heard this music, the other greats and I am often held up by them today. What we hear now is amazingly gifted composers, as it were, striving to ever so faintly give us some imagination of what is incomprehensible now of the angelic and eternal sound to come one day. Our small human minds could not enter such that will be, it too much for us in our human frame. Meanwhile, let's cling to this beautiful help our souls, our very minds lap up and never tire of.
The most ecstatic piece ever composed and the theme is not surprising: the eternal love of Romeo an Julia, which Shakespeare so brilliantly expressed by prose and Thchaikovsky by music... This is Divine!
Tchaikovsky is the greatest of them because of his astounding versatility. Symphonies, concertos, opera, choral, chamber, stand alone masterworks like Capriccio Italien, one of the first great song writers (None But the Lonely Heart) and, of course, ballet.
The fantastic performance brings to life the tragic, dynamic and dramatic of a story. You can see the changes in scenery, lighting, costume and expression from the music. Amazing! Love it.
Weekend is here fans, let's invite everybody enjoy music happenings, visit Switzerland for the occasion or...just enjoying a concert nearby, let them musicians entertain you some more & let good vibes prevail, we need just music to unite us and stop all war disputes once for all, thank you sharing guys ❤🎉❤
This work, IMO, is the ultimate definition of beauty in virtuosic composition unmatched in history of Western music, presented in an excellent performance by Paavo Järvi , a proven Tchaikovsky conductor!
In my own opinion, I think Tchaikovsky's Waltz from Eugene Onegin, his 6th Symphony and Korsakov's Scheherazade (not to mention some Ravel's works) may compete with it, however it's doubtlessly in the top 10
Qué belleza de arte musical. Ni un virus ni absolutamente nada podrán mutilar la creatividad del hombre, expresada a través del arte, en este caso musical. Maravillpsa interpretación.
The piece was beautiful, and it was very encouraging, especially to me since I played this piece only last year. I love the energy everyone has, despite their being no live audience. Congrats all the way from Saint Louis.
BRAAAVOOOOOO🎶👏👏👏👏💥👌🌺 What a brilliant and phenomenal performance of a true masterpiece by Tchaikovsky👌🌺🎶 Love all of your performances in any way! Your enormous and continuous perseverance in these difficult times really is most encouraging, very commendable and most inspiring! Thank you so much for bringing joy, courage and happiness into our hearts👍🤩❤🙋♀️ BRAVO!🎶🌺
Enjoying the T-OZ Tchaikovsky under the baton of Paavo Jarvi. I imagine you miss the live audience reaction. Consider that I am on my feet with a couple of thousand other audience members: Bravo! Spasiba!! Parabens a todos!!! [I am going to watch your performance of Tchaikovsky #1 now] All the Best from metro-Washington, DC.
Thank you very much! Yes, it was very sad to play in an empty hall but we still prefered to play anyway. happy to hear you are enjoyingour music all over the ocean!
Bravo!👏👏👏👏👏 I yelled out bravo in my house because this concert was perfect! Thank you to hear me great music😊 If I had been there I would have applauded and yelled out bravo so much!
I played this piece 20 years ago and since then I'm in love with it. From the very start you know that there will be no happy ending for Romeo and Julia and the last three minutes are one of the most beautiful endings I've ever heard. But honestly I don't get the last few bars. In my opinion the very last ending ruins the beautifully sad atmosphere.
In the play's end, Capulet and Montague make a truce with each other, so that's some kind of happy ending. I interpret, however, this piece's ending as if Romeo and Juliet's souls meet each other in the afterlife. Still, it's really beautiful and sublime. It made me cry.
First played this in 1989 and it still gets me right in the feels. I dreaded the runs...but good lord get me to the love theme...and just let me sit here and listen to the woodwinds and french horns.
a fellow writing the notes on a cd of p.i.t.'s works, talked of his "lovely melodys." then in parenteses, he asked: did Tchaikovsky ever write a melody that was not beautiful." if so, it was rare. he also informed of the composer's comment that Mozart was the Christ of music, leaving no doubt where he stood on that fellow's works.
its timeless , the most phenomenal work of Tchaikovsky

this the most insane love song ever
wow..however..you have not listened to : Andrés Orozco Estrada's version with the Frankfort radio sinfonia orchestra...its a knock out...!!!!!
Tchaikovsky was the master of drama and tragedy in music.
FABULOUS orquesta and one of the best video, the Camera man new how to get every musician on their solos and entrances. BRAVO.

one of a growing list of performances during the pandemic, without an audience present.

Weltklasse! Bravissimo
Perfect tempo and expression. Of course Tchaikovsky's is the music of passion - anger and the tears of love.
OHMYGOD! when the violins come in at 18:26 Its one of the beautiful and sublime things ive ever heard!
I take this is a personal compliment since I have played this piece before. Not sure if that sounds right though.

Volker Hoffmann
