I love Jack Nicholson's joker he's definitely in my top 3 favorite jokers and I would absolutely love to see a retro review of The original Hot Toys one.

That is one sweet piece Justin. The 1989 Batman has always been my favourite in the franchise. Plus Jack Nicholson portrayed the Joker to perfection. Would I buy one ? Absolutely.

Thanks, as always, for the review, Justin. I was on the fence and figured I'd wait for your review before deciding one way or another. I'm leaning against the purchase, mostly because this Joker's costume has some obvious flaws (e.g., shorter tie, smaller vest, etc.). I'll prob. change my mind tomorrow.

Just got this guy for a steal price the reason why he was so cheap was because it came factory sealed with the head glued shut I probably going to try to carefully separate it but from the images I have seen the eyes look ok 👌 so exited to get him 😀

Just got this today. Dx14 too expensive but this will go great in the background next to my 89 batmobile and batman that are hopefully coming soon!

12:12 Nice comparison to the DX-14. The sculpt itself looks very similar to the Cyber-X one- at least from this distance. I wonder if they casted the same sculpt but tweaked it for PERS. In any case, you can see how the DX-14 is better head to toe here.

Very good head sculpt, those original hot toys figures are hard to compete with, but this looks like a nice alternative

Not a bad looking alternative to the DX14 in my opinion. The hat is a bummer and certain things about the outfit bug me. For what it is though not bad. I regret not getting the DX14 when it was cheap.

The Hot Toys original still looks better I’d say.
This one’s fine though, as a background Joker. Amusingly, the longer feather is a better fit for the sequence despite the wrong colour. As for the hat being too small, I guess you can get rid of the issue by putting the figure in a « the pen is truly mightier than the sword » pose, where the Joker has his arms outstretched and his hat off.
The original is 100% the better one

I actually have a DX14 sitting around in the box, I’ve had it since December of 2013. I plan to sell it to buy a DX09 I can display with my DX08! i’m gonna make a diorama based off of a scene from the movie to display them in, though I haven’t decided on what diorama yet! The bell tower wouldn’t be a bad idea, but I want something instantly recognizable. Maybe the art gallery?

A Bruce Wayne Keaton from ‘89 would be great. Especially considering how poor the head sculpt from Returns was. It just doesn’t look like Michael Keaton in my opinion.

For me, it's a bit night and day, especially when you get to the headsculpt (or should I say/recast/resculpt). The tailoring isn't as good, that texture on the gloves is way too coarse for the 1/6th scale and as you say there's the paint. But when you get to the head it all falls apart for me. Looking at the disparity - looks like they've gone back in and tried to resculpt the detail they lost from recasting the HT one. But again the texture and wrinkles are just not on the same level, nowhere near. They're an approximation, not the amazing accuracy to Nicholson of the HT sculpt. To be fair it is one of HT's best sculpts as you said, even from that long ago. And it's really obvious when you get to the hair - they didn't bother to add detail back in there and it's very apparent. Yes as you say there's the hat. But the biggest thing? The eyes. Just nowhere near the same level as the HT one (again, for me). Not even close. Paint isn't as good either.
Gotta admit my heart sank when I saw I could have got this fig much cheaper as it's been a grail for many years. And I only just got the HT one. But now I'm happy - thanks so much for the review, it showed me even as exy as it is, I made the right decision in springing for the HT one. Cheers!

@@JustinsCollection I contacted an AliExpress seller. He told me he has an original Ciber X Joker. He also says Cyber X Studio is an Asian brand.
Unfortunately I can't find this figure in Europe... I live in Italy... There are the Hot Toys, but the prices are super expensive...

It’s criminal how we didn’t get a newer 89 joker instead this is just a re-release. This version is ok for the time just not all that accurate

Just received mine not too long ago. I’m very happy with it despite the hat being wonky. I would recommend everybody be EXTRA careful with the feather, as mine snapped at the stem within ten minutes lol. Trusty superglue fixed it thankfully.
