I attend an Izon speaking church over here in Port Harcourt, the Izon language spoken is Kolo-kuma, and I'm from Southern Ijaw, so this is actually very helpful. I'm so jotting this down, so I'll go and show myself😜😂. Thanks Laye baby😘
I'm from Rivers state, we speak mostly Eastern ijaw (kalabari, okrika, ibani). Western/Central ijaw has always been a bit difficult for me to understand 😀
There are little differences with what you taught just now and what we speak. Although I can't speak the Ijaw language but I understand it. I hope your videos help me anyways keep up with promoting the Ijaw language
Hi Grace, our general attire is to tie double wrapper(the first gets down to the ankle, while the second stops just below the knee), and blouse with headgear. For serious occasions, we also wear red coral beads. Hope this is helpful to you.
So I really want commend what you doing although i did love you be little more serious and very direct. And the focus should be the Bayelsa Ijaw dialect while you make reference to other Ijaw dialects like the Rivers, Ondo Delta etc so as to be more inclusive
I don't think there's anything like Bayelsa Ijaw, that's because there are several dialects of Izon even in Bayelsa state. I speak the Kolokuma variant or dialect of the Izon language.
That's obeisance or courtesy, it's usually done slightly bending your knees for ladies and bowing your head for gentlemen. You can say that when greeting an older person
Koide , means I’m on my kneels , then the elderly seri . Meaning stand up .. then says do .. so it’s translate as , I’m on my kneels , and the elderly says standup , thank you …now have you woken up ? Means eseride? ..the seri do , is a command , the seri de , is a question .. please know what you teach others . For the sake of our language .
Nice one keep it up
