Certainly is nice to hear the soothing western music with guitar and harmonica instead of the overdone organ music other programs had to resort to in place of their more expensive orchestras. But then growing up in cowboy country I’m admittedly partial to western everything-AND “happily ever after” romance. :)
I haven't found anything specific, but NBC was unable to find a sponsor, and James Stewart refused to be sponsored by a cigarette company (Chesterfield really wanted to sponsor the show). I suspect the cost of sustaining the show was more than NBC was willing to shoulder.
Excellent

Very pleasant western show. Why only 39 episodes?
