It’s so cool that you’re reading Percy Jackson! I do love that series. My most anticipated release is Babel, hands down.

Recursion is now one of my favorite books and I appreciate your review. The way he ups the ante over and over again was brilliant, and the resolution was equally elegant.

Hi Jess! I absolutely loved "Legendborn." I have always stanned the ideals of some of the Arthurian legends, and to see some of it retold in such a new way was beyond amazing.
I look forward to "Bloodmarked," and what will happen next.
Also, Riordan has written books like Percy Jackson on Norse and Egyptian mythology. He also has a Rick Riordan presents where different authors from varying backgrounds write their own muthology. My favorite so far is the Aru Shah series, or Pandava quintet, by Roshani Chokshi which weaves tales around Aru and her Hindu culture, and background. Check them out!

I read The Final Strife this year too and…I agree with you. I’m surprised I even pushed myself to finish it. It was unnecessarily long and mostly very boring. The romance should have remained a friendship and I feel like there were parts of the story that could have been surprising reveals, had they been done well…very disappointing.

I’m always so happy when I see you’ve posted. I love your reviews and recommendations. 2022 has been an amazing reading year for me so far. I binge read two trilogies: “The Silo Series” by Hugh Howey and “The Green Bone Saga” by Fonda Lee. Right now I’m into book three of “The Books of Babel” by Josiah Bancroft. One more to go. Like you, I love P. Djeli Clark and read three of his novellas. I’m also a huge fan of Nnedi Okarafor, so I read “Akata Woman” and “Noor.” Loved them both. There are many more, but I’ll stop here. 😜

Ooo I think I need to pick up Percy Jackson soon.
My favorite and most surprising read this year was Legends and Lattes by Travis Baldree. I thought I'd love it but it was even better than I hoped, instant favorite. My most disappointing read was probably The Kaiju Preservation Society, it was fine but it just didn't grab me. I think my most anticipated release is Furysong by Rosario Munda, but I'm also so scared for all of the characters!

I too finally got around to Pachinko this year. I loved it. I couldn’t put it down and loved that family.
I have loved everything I have read of Blake Crouch’s The Pines. It felt ya and predictable. I dnf’ed the first book.
