This story has always made me worried honestly. I am surprised Lot didn’t run mad. I would have vanished in the middle of the night if I were him. But Ruth was a Moabitess and she ended up in the bloodline of King David because of her love for Naomi, so maybe she saved her bloodline through her love. The oldest daughter gave birth to Moab.
What makes you think Lot didn't go mad? The Bible may not mention how Lot felt about his own daughters raping him, and yet I think it's safe to assume he felt like every person who has been raped by a family member ever felt like: betrayed, angry, hurt, violated and so on.
It was so messed up because Lot was willing to sell his daughters off in Sodom to a bunch of strangers and then left his son in laws behind. He wasn't thinking clearly at all

You know what? I'm always shocked & appalled by this story but for some reason, I was just reminded that these are Abraham's grand/great nieces so this is still during that time when that stuff was allowed because Abraham married Sarah and she was his half sister.
