I love your contraption to flush the radiator. It took me awhile to figure that out.

I loved watching these go by the 750s in the day. . .

Yeah....and the look on the faces of the 750 owners !! :-)

Now that's satisfaction. Still miss racing that-gen 250 & 350's, so much was up to the rider and not the tech.

I almost cried when I saw your TZ350 restored so beautifully and thoroughly. I have owned a 1976 RD400 since it was new and have spent thousands over the years to keep it in as mint condition as possible while still being a daily driver I've got 2 strokes in my blood. The only modifications from stock was to put on clubman bars and recently converted it to electronic timing from points and condenser.
Last fall, after 45 years, i gave it to my oldest son with two conditions - 1) that he never modifies it from stock and 2) that he never sells it
This is the first time in my life that I don't have a bike to drive and I am now looking now to buy a new one. I'm not sure what it will be but they don't make 2 stroke cruisers.

Brilliant job Ross, that bike is a credit to you and all the labour of love that you put into it.
I did something similar myself to a TR2B many years ago.
Now you have a ball with your masterpiece.

My first motorcycle was a 1974 RD350, followed by an RD400, and I loved them both. I had the pleasure of seeing Kenny Roberts race a TZ700 (?) at Daytona. Here's a stupid question: could a TZ350 be made street legal? I suspect that, even if it could, the narrow power band and push starting, among other characteristics, would make for very unpleasant riding most of the time.

Do you mind me asking roughly how much you paid for it in the condition it was. Such a beautiful restoration. My dad races a B model in the 70s and 80s. I would love to restore one atbsome point. Beautiful work

Thanks Peter. I paid £4500 in 2009 in that condition. Motor was turning over but the water ways and rad were blocked as she had been left for many years with water still in her. I bought her because although rough she was so original, right down to the nuts and washers, a real time capsule.
