    I think the renovation is spectacular. I like how so many Malaysian upscale homes use wooden slats. I also love the speckled terraza stone . However I didn’t understand what I assume was the kitchen area. Everything was hidden behind doors which is a design decision. But was the only counter space the little bit with the curved end?

    Here in the U.S. (Florida) they started building homes called “next generation) about 4 years ago. It’s definitely NOT this type of build. This is beautiful!!

    Really well-done! Not sure I would want to live with my parents in this fashion but it's the norm in their culture.

    I enjoyed this one. My brother and I have a similar courtyard that is 6m in width. The houses in the Philippines are required to have a 2m setback from each property line so we would have 4m (it usually becomes a service alley) of wasted space if my brother and I decided to build a wall. So instead, we will build a shared courtyard and we gave up 1m each to complete a 6m width. It will be our shared outdoor area for bbqs, children to run around in, and for bigger gatherings when the outdoor wearher is nice.

    Beautiful Space that has a minimal yet classy design.. a bit too much of Terrazzo but ok

    Hmm, not sure about this approach. Maybe it’s perfect for the "rich people's taste and lifestyle"? I mean, it's basically just timber slat walls and roofs connecting two properties-super groundbreaking stuff, right? The whole design feels so warm and inviting... oh wait, no, it's actually cold and soulless despite all the timber finishes. They’re clearly aiming for a seamless, simple interior, but sure, let’s add a million hidden doors and cabinets on every wall. Super practical!
    And the kitchen? Genius idea to hide it way in the back. I can already picture myself hauling dishes all the way through an awkwardly shaped bar, the dining area, and finally reaching the "communal space." Half the house just to serve some food-unless, of course, you’re smart and order KFC or Pizza Hut. Problem solved, right?
    Oh, and natural lighting? Yeah, just throw a communal space in the middle and cross your fingers. Who needs daylight when you can live under artificial lights 24/7? Honestly, it feels less like a house and more like a display unit.
    But hey, that’s just me. Everyone has their taste, and apparently, this luxury icebox just isn’t mine. Form over function, I guess.

    Man, I don't envy the Kakak who will have to dust and wipe all those wooden panels and mirrors. . Not too sure about the colour temperature of those white walls in a tropical context. Something also feels quite odd with the base of the wall without the baseboard. It works with natural cement/concrete wall, but yeah if you see on the 8th minute, that wall is a bit uneven. Perhaps it could only work on prefabricated walls, but since the concept is minimalist, all the little details stand out so much.

    • @rajasekharanvichattu4287
      @rajasekharanvichattu4287 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Exactly my thought , cleaning on a tropical climate is a big issue . Unless you appoint a maid to clean , most of your day will be spend on cleaning the walls.
      The same with the usage of mirrors , on tropical regions , the sun is harsh and a mirror will only make you feel worse , even if you manage to diffuse the hell of the light hitting your room .
      All of those will compound as soon as you have a kid - i guess people dont plan that far .

    • @sbaumgartner9848
      @sbaumgartner9848 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The video said the house is naturally dark because it doesn’t get much sun. I assume you are referring to the mirrored stairwell; I agree about the effort to keep it clean. The owners would have cleaners for the house. They obviously have money.
