    At last someone who takes the time to explain and demonstrate. Well done on an extremely informative video, it is much appreciated.

    Great overview and tutorial of what looks like a terrifyingly complex beast of a machine. Bravo!

      Thank you so much! It really is a complex beast, so many degrees of freedom and I've still only scratched the surface.

    Very easy to follow along, great job. So often demos wind up being explainers without hands-on or playing at a rapid fire pace. You have a wonderful progression through this synths feature set. Looking forward to part 2 as others have stated. 🙂

      Thank you! Glad you enjoyed the demo and were able to follow along. Part 2 coming in just a few days at the start of the new year 😺

    Thanks for this great video . I especially like the fact that you stayed onboard without using the computer editor .

      Wow, thanks! Glad you enjoyed the tutorial and found it helpful. The process of making it has taught me how to do some really interesting sound design with it.

    Slick tutorial. Fist bump from me to you ❤ I'm off to check out part 2. You are much appreciated. What's your thoughts on this, 2 years later? I'm using the mkii. I wanted something hardware that existed within the same discussion as serum. It's my fav machine ever tbh.

      Thank you 😻. It's still a great little synth. A bit overwhelming at times - one has to remember that you don't have to use all the features at once when creating new sounds...

    well explained (and the right ones - in depth), atm the best one about the Modwave.

    Hi Cat, thanks for this, I am a total amateur, I started with the Roland JDXi, which has been great for the very, very basics, and has some lush JP8 pads and great drum kits, but I have been wanting a synth to teach me more and to learn more from, I decided to go with the ModWave and it should arrive over the next few days, so I am pretty exited, I like that it has the shapes of the waves in the screen and also full ASDR controls on the front panel, I have a question though, I really like ambient music, do you think its possible at all with the sequencer on this to program in chords, or would I be right in saying that I can only program an individual key at one time on this sequencer, thats just what I seem to be seeing when I have watched videos about the ModWave, maybe there is a workaround to get it to sequence full chords? or maybe why might add this at some point to an update maybe, I know it goes deep, really deep from what I can see, do you still like it, has it grown on you, do you still use it to create sounds and music? All the best and kindest regards.

      @CatSynthTV  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi! Thanks for your question. The "sequencer" on the modwave is really a wave sequencer, so it's for controlling the waveforms, filters, envelopes, etc, of each voice rather than entering notes like a traditional sequencer. So I don't think chords would be possible. However, it would be great for ambient music by holding down some notes for an extended period of time and then programing in gradual changes via the wave sequencers, and LFOs.

      @@CatSynthTV Brilliant, this is good news, because mine is due to arrive today, I am really looking forward to exploring all of the sound options and learning more about the the sounds using the ModWave, I was watching a TH-cam about modular synthesis and it made me think that the sheer number of modulation options on the ModWave including been able to re route pretty much any LFO and the random function with the sequencer makes it in a way as close as you can get to modular but in the package of a keyboard synthesiser, I don't know if you would agree with this, kindest regards.

    I was curious, how do you factory reset the Modwave? Bought a used one.

    • @CatSynthTV
      @CatSynthTV  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi. Congrats and enjoy your modwave!
      In terms of factory reset, there isn't one over-arching function for that. The factory presets are read-only, so they remain in place even as you edit and save your own.
      In order reset the global and utility settings to their defaults, or to erase the user presets, you can use the modwave Editor/Librarian tool.

    MIDI learn / MIDI mapping: can the other parameters that are accessible only in the software, be assigned to an other external hardware midi controller (so not to use a computer in a live performance)?

    • @CatSynthTV
      @CatSynthTV  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      MIDI learn and mapping require the software instrument to run, either in standalone or plugin mode. You can use an external controller and just keep the computer the side in live performance, but there is no way to use them without one.

  • @kisho2679
    @kisho2679 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    can you set several parameters as sources to modulate all simultaneously with a red pot?

    • @CatSynthTV
      @CatSynthTV  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! Yes, you can use the red modulation knobs to control several parameters at once. You will need to set up separate modulation path for each destination but use the same red knob as the source for all of them.
