I have a gyro cutter and experience exactly the same problems as you have with the fiskars. It struggles to turn at corners. You have to line up the blade when starting off, otherwise it won't cut. Also it veers off in its own merry little way. I wonder if I have a dud? It just doesn't turn as freely as it needs to.
Nobody on youtube has used one of these right yet lol you are supposed to hold it vertical thats what allows the blade to swivel. If you have it at any angle you are creating resistance for the blade to struggle turning. The instructions of all these types of cutters tell you to hold it vertical but it seems nobody reads instructions anymore.
Thank you so much! I really wanted to know the difference before I went to buy it. Know I can make a better decision plus I like the color of the Gyro too. Win, win.
Although I do not have either tool I'm supposing the gyro performs better because its standing upright. If you could hold the fiskars to stand upright it might do a better job. Just my speculation...
I have the regular fiskars finger blade. It takes a short bit to get used to it, but it works great. I don’t think I’d buy either of the swivel or rotating tools
I looked up videos to see if there were tips on how to use the Fiskars Swivel tool. My thoughts were I’m just not using it right. It did do better if I turned the page around as I cut.👎🏻on this product. (do designers who make this stuff ever use their own product???) Guess I’m not the only one with issues.
hey there! So i made my own stickers on lable printing sheets. im using an x-acto knife to try and cut it out but it isnt really working. Maybe its the tool, maybe its the type of sheet. but whats the name of the paper for the stickers yoiu use?
+Lauren trout it sounds like it might be the tool. My X-acto knife doesn't work to cut stickers. My gyro works perfectly though on any type of sticker sheet. The brand of the sticker sheet that I have is Avery. Hope that helps! :)
+little kit I was gifted these sticker sheets so I'm not sure where they came from, sorry! However I've heard that they sell these on Amazon. There's a lot of brands to choose from
@@ScrapbookWithKim15 I believe that is what we are trying to tell you--so many, TOO many choices. That is why the link would have been so helpful; Thanks so much for your demo. Barbara in Texas
Two things make an improvement when cutting (probably for both) a) use a tacky mat to place your material b) make sure the tool is held vertical c) don't try to use too much pressure.
I have been waiting for this type of comparison video for these 2 cutting tools. I have the fiskars one and had the exact same experience. So do you still like the gyro tool? I'm going to have to order it. Thanks! As you can see, I loved your video. Lololol!! 😁😉
Wish I would've see. This review before buying the fiskars. I just bought it and tried it out and have the same issues. I thought I would try it before ordering the gyro-cut. Thank you. Also, what is the "slice" everyone is referring too. Thanks fir the review. 😀
+miapt4you maybe you could return the fiskars :) Gyro cut will not disappoint you. The slice is another cutting tool. But it's pretty big and not easy to transport. But if you're wondering, this is it: www.joann.com/making-memories-slice-die-cut-machine-starter-kit/2413508.html?gclid=Cj0KEQjw2ua8BRDeusOkl5qth4QBEiQA8BpQcP_z89PN5-Dk64CxI7cp5qtDnwMd-UczUOQEFYGeM9QaAp5N8P8HAQ
When using the Gyro-Cut tool it is way easier if you make your cutting Mat Sticky using Sticky Mat Adhesive from Crafty Products Ltd see their website www.craftyproducts.co.uk home of the Gyro-Cut Junior and Gyro-Cut PRO tools.
Thanks for the comparison! I went with the Gyro-Cut based on your review and demo. :)
+Rhondalei Gabuat yay! You'll love it ❤️

I have been contemplating on whether or not to purchase the gyro tool. Now I am definitely going to go buy it!
+La Vie Verseau yassss 🙃 definitely worth it !

I have a question. How much pressure do you put on the Gyro to have it cut? I have it and I have been trying it with no luck.
I have the other fiskars cutter ( doesn't swivel) and it works better on a glass mat. Might help with this one? Just an idea. I love the gyro.
+Nancy Wiltshire oOoo thanks for the input! Maybe I'll give the fiskars yet another chance!

Many thanks! Going with the gyro!
How do you change the blades?
Thanks Kim!
My blade keeps comin out on the fists swivel how do I fix that
Great review! Thank you.

Your Fiskars blade seems to be dull could that be an issue?
Both products were brand new at the time of the review :)

Good think,,,,,,,, പക്ഷെ ഇതു എവിടെ നിന്നും വാങ്ങാൻ പറ്റും,,,,,,,?.
Great video! I feel the same way about the Fiskar tool. I was very disappointed....I think I may invest in the Gyro and give it a try. :)
+Mary Pispitsos yes! It's definitely worth it ! 😁
Im having trouble with my fiskers ones too. :(

+Sara Schmitt I LOVEEE the gyro and I still use it. Haven't found anything better than it yet 😝 thanks for dropping by ! ☺️
Nice review! 😎 still waiting for vlogs though....
+CrzyBabyT ehhhh.....😣
what sticker paper do you use?
+Tinkgirls2324 I use the Avery brand from Office Depot 😁
Thank you, very helpful!
You have to turn the paper as you cut
Sticker paper is very thin. But to use with a mat and thicker paper I use the fiskars

Same here. I bought my fiskar before I even knew the gyro cut existed.
She was having trouble cutting with the fiskars because only the tip was on the paper. She needs to have the whole blade on the paper
I had the same frustrating issues with the Fiskars swivel knife and thought it was just me.
Have you tried the slice?
+Stacey Heath I have not 😣

I am going to buy the gyro. :) Thanks to your review.
+Ivon Garcia glad it helped ☺️
ScrapbookWithKim I bought this and I love it. I am going to go through all the printed stickers just sitting there. This is such a fun gadget!
...I'm sorry but this tool doesn't work.
