When they say DONT PANIC and the last one gave us HELL IN TAMPA and central Florida. Lithia here we got double HELL HERE. But because we are country side NOBODY CARES! Nobody came to see the damage and the horror this last one did on our side.
Worrisome for sure but all we can do is be prepared as possible!! Fortunate to have hurricane shutters on our house and a new roof in April before Ian; I hope we don’t lose power like we did for three days!! Looks like our neighbors north of us in the Panhandle will experience worse conditions so I’m praying for them!! At this point all we can do is wait n hope for the best for everyone! 🙏
If you really want the truth in these storms, watch the GFS, Canadian, Euro, and German weather models. Most show it blowing up to a very large hurricane with more likely hitting about the Tallahassee area but there are a couple instances in the models to move hard right for Tampa.
The wide spread wind shear which has protected us from an active tropical season seems to have abated somewhat allowing for all these lows to start developing and maybe produce a hurricane .
Hurricane Michael was catastrophic in our area in 2018. This is no joke! Prepare with supplies, check on your family and friends and follow all official guidelines. Stay safe everyone!
No need to panic? Why not tell ALL the story and let people decide. Intensity matters. Why not tell us what category we are looking at possibly? I hate it when people decide for us What information we need to know. And then tell us to relax only to go "oh my God" at the last minute.
Don't panic! Never panic! But, don't wait until you're seeing the effects to start preparing. It's much easier to do hurricane prep BEFORE the weather is going downhill.

Don't worry about the roofs, worry about your lives! Guess there will be a repeat of flooding. I feel sorry for those that are still making repairs from the last flooding who will have to start all over again!
These newscasters get complained when they over prepare us, people call it panic and they are complained about when they say don't panic! Just listen, prepare because no one knows where exactly or how strong until it's too late. Stop complaining about the message.
