My wife and I drove to Detroit from Montreal and spent days driving around the city. Its nlt hard to imagine how beautiful the city was with great big houses. It really hurts to see what happened to such a beautiful city but Detroit still has a place in my heart. We will definitely visit again!
In the 50's and 60's, that neighborhood was such a beautiful area back in the day. St. Theresa Catholic Church would ring it's bell each day at noon. I had relatives that lived on Quincy street and over on Dumbarton street which was renamed Heritage st in the 1980's.
I’m from that area… Back in the day it use to be so beautiful over there. Shame the neighborhood went bad like this. Sometime I wish I could start a positive movement and go back and flip the whole neighborhood into a better one.
I grew up in Detroit. This is the old West Side. Those are the best 2 family flats and single homes ever. It didn't use to have all this vacant land. Kinda sad. Thank you American auto industry.
I love the fact that you really be out here riding around my city. Jus showing whats going on. Lol 🏆🫡
Thanks Unc

Beautiful architecture on a lot of those houses. They were once nice. What a shame :(

You don’t want to stop at certain lights. If the coast is clear and it’s dark, you go.

Yes I can see from the houses that are still in tact that it must have been a magnificent upper-middle class neighborhood back in it's heyday.

it's northwest of downtown off Grand River Ave.

Detroit is doing a whole lot better. The city is tearing these houses down and the rich are remodeling the rest.
Yep while I was there I saw both, crews working on houses and crews tearing them down
Once upon a time, Detroit was the pinnacle of US manufacturing.
