    Saph, you assume the only problem was the krakens getting damage in the trillions.
    I submit there was a second problem, in Plarium's eyes. I wager that Plarium was very concerned that too many players, were too easily reaching 650m for top clash chests, and even reaching 1.2b for individual chests. Players were reaching these scores with free champs and free teams. Reaping top rewards easily and consistently with no spending.
    I fully believe this explains the adjustments to drop everyone's scores, and no drop in the reward milestones.

      Yep. Same with the cheese cb teams. More shards than they want to give earlier players. Even a lot of ppl without the cheese teams were suddenly hetting double chests.

      I don't really know if its an issue of low spenders getting it or if it's people who's teams were weaker than what should be able to get the chests was the issue

      @@thoughtlesskills Well shard influx hurts everyone that does not have a cheese team as Plarium will adapt to the current shard count of players when they do fusions etc. So grats on your cheese and ungrats to the ones that don't I guess. But I don't think you care about the ones that does not have the cheese, me correct?

    The simple, absolute truth is, I'm not sure I'm going to engage with this content any longer.
    I don't expect things to be easy, but I do expect them to be fun.
    I don't feel any fun any longer when I do Hydra battles. And I didn't have any of the broken
    teams before hand.

    These changes failed to accomplish any stated goal other than reducing effectiveness of perceived exploitative teams. It has done nothing to bring strong teams and clans closer to weaker ones since the weaker teams have been cut off at the legs. Even accepting changes were necessary, the implemented changes are as poorly thought out as any other dev created change historically.

    I went from 4,7B to 2,1B in clash points overall, I wonder how long it will take Plarium to launch hydra champs that ignore the current mechanics that whales and krakens can pursue, Plarium's laughing all the way to the bank...

      @@cjhaedaten8711 First of all, I think everyone agree that 1000 turns is a good change, down from 1500 turns, that is a 30% decrease in potential damage. But according to you that change is bad because it lowered everyone's numbers which made everyone a victim and entitled to whine about it.

    RIP Thor. RIP Wallmaster. Since the change, I get 3 Serpents Will almost non stop. Boring, waste of time and not here to babysit every single attack. So close to quitting after 4.5 years. This is the only game I've ever played where the game does everything it can to make you quit. Also, destroyed all of our new clan mates clan boss teams. Losing players daily now.

      It is interesting, because this is the most players that have ever quit at once since the games launch.
      Its the best thing to do at this point. You quit and then don't have to deal with plarium in your life anymore.

      I only attack up to Brutal, and I have both Thor and Othorion in the same brutal team, Thor lost half his damage, while my Othorion gain 20% more damage than before since his Max Hp damage doubles on exposed neck

    Meh, ok so the damage for everyone went down. These changes make hydra extremely unfun and i no longer care to improve my teams.
    My double teox team went from 3.5b to 330m on hard. The heads just die so fast SW is basically up more than its not. So ive been punished for plarium creating their own power creep

      Even in this video he just showed him spending a bunch of time with 3 heads immune to all damage and then when they took a turn his champions died.
      Hydra has become so boring.

    Auto might be hard, but my days of manual running ended with the changes. Don't care if I get fewer points, everyone is getting fewer points.

    I just tried to do normal hydra with my team which usually does 1B dmg: eostrid, trunda, teela, wixwell, rathalos, uugo and I barely did any damage. I'm literally getting punished for being fast with. I'm able to kill the heads easily, but unless I can bring all the damage from the respawned heads down to 0 at once and have them respawn at the same time, all the heads are respawning 1 by 1 and are getting serpent's will. Then I sit there, taking turns doing 0 damage. It's stupid because they advertised it as when they respawn at the same time, then only 1 head will get the serpent's will. However, it's a lot harder to get them to respawn at the same time due to aoe damage needed for this to happen. I think overall, this will hurt the average player, especially someone who wants to build their champs to the best ability

    So Yumeko not balanced, Trunda not balanced, but Taunt and Wixwell shields- the only things that helped shrink the gap between Krakens and low-spenders/ average players- are wiped from the game. Yup, that’s the least surprising thing ever.
    Wixwell & Yanica were cheese right? Because they subverted the mechanics of the game mode. But these other teams that were effectively untouched, one-shotting heads the instant they appear, don’t subvert anything?
    Choose to play or not based on what’s fun for you. Don’t ever think Plarium cares about anything at all other than the top 1% of players. They have ZERO interest in producing a game that’s fun and balanced for everyone.
    If you’re angry… don’t shout into the wind. Stop spending. Leave brutally honest reviews and ratings on the store fronts.

      My trunda disagree. 2-3 billion before on normal. 200mil now. This was with a double trunda team. Stop thinking trunda teams was just for krakens.

    I’m casual endgame (2019) and these changes have definitely made my Raid-life worse. I really wanted an Auto team. I’m so tired of manual runs. Have Trunda but wasn’t using the abuse comps. I was waiting for these changes to be announced to rework my teams. Not even sure I can get a competitive auto team with the buffs to Hydra. Regular dmg dealers took a major nerf and that really is a pi$$er.

    3:22 - so these changes which were made to make hydra more auto friendly has actually had the opposite effect and would force most players to manual and thereby feel more drained. Surely, nobody expected this

      Exactly, Hydra now cannot be auto'd and Trunda is still broken in the fight.
      These changes mainly hurt people who are not high level whales. And even if you are a whale, you now have to play manually.

    Essentially the took all of the fun out of hydra - no need to push team builds to push damage, no need to spend on souls - feel like they hurt their profit by making these changes - not to mention the people who are leaving the game

    Decapitated heads getting a health bar has meant that there is now a damage cap on Hydra.

    I prefer Tyrauku and VictorTes suggestion on hydra changes. hydra clash scoring needs a revamp, more future-proof than these silly changes.

    I'm confused about whether you were saying the CODE says that it doubles every consumption. Because that would imply 400k, 800k, 1.6m, 3.2m, etc... but in the vid your example was 400k, 800k, 1.2m, 1.6m etc. Is it increasing the multiplier by 1 every time, or doubling every time?

    My teams damage was cut directly in half. 50% less of what it did before the changes. I dont have Trunda or Wixwell so you're bang on with the numbers. I dont auto either. I think the real reason they did this was too many people were getting all the new milestone rewards every week and they realized they messed up. So they cut everyone's damage by 50% to cut it back. Nothing to do with Trunda because it hasn't changed her position just like you said still on top.

    My double ally attack NM team lost 66% dmg. 1.2bil down to 400mil. High single target dmg seems to be heavily punished. High dmg in general has been punished but AOE helps some.
    Teams in my clan that were doing 1/3rd my dmg are now only like 10-20% worse. So NM teams that cant deplete decap heads werent really affected much it seems.

    What gear do you have Eostrid in? Plus I love how they said they lowered the turn count to "make runs not be as long... " while everyone has to pretty much manual the fight because of the mechanics causing everyone's screen shots about an hour

    Thank you very much Saph for a clear and concise demonstration. ever since the change I have lost my drive to play. I was a f2p playing 2 years who could barely reach 1.3b in clash with all my 3 keys, and now I will not reach half of that.
    One thing though, the attack on decapitated head is glitched all over, not just for mikage. No one attacks a decapitated head. it is just random

    For people to learn, everything must have consequences. I have not done Hydra since the buff/nerf. The content is dead to me now. And I am done spending in this game. The game is not fun for me anymore, and I'm thinking about quitting.

    For me consumption is much less of a problem than that I keep having at least 3 serpent will buffs on all the time. Also, decrease speed is now punishing you, seriously?

    Hydra was always a chore and a bit annoying. The major problem with the changes is that it is now 100% not fun at all on top of that. I feel like "no longer fun" is the reaction I've seen the most. As far as damage I'd say my overall clash points have been reduced to about only 1/3.

    Went from 1.7 billion to 500 million . I had a taunt team for brutal.. my biggest loss was normal 450 million to 95.

    I am a ftp mid-level+ account. I o not have Trunda, Yumeko, or any of the other top tier champs. I have never built a Shield exploit team, a Taunt exploit team, or any other 1 billion+ teams. My teams will all still get top chest on Normal of course, but as for Hard, my teams have lost about 60% of their damage, costing me my 1 key there much of the time (I ran a bunch of test runs).
    The problem, of course, isn't the damage... it's that I can't get past the 5th Digestion with the first extended Green Health Bar. I can't free my champ in two turns from that much HPs, so my runs always start to fall apart at that point.
    I'm not concerned about how this affects Clash... I just wanted to keep collecting the chests I worked hard to build teams for over the last year, from my meager champ list.

    I think this is indicative of their bad balancing and champion design in general.
    As a very average player, these changes make me reconsider any effort i put into the game.

    my damage has been cut in half and frankly hydra also feels like it hits way harder than before. The digestion ramps up way way way to fast, basically on your 3rd go its impossible.

    Saph your prediction was spot on , all 3 of my teams lost 60% of their damage output. 33% from losing 500 turns would be reasonable. And I do like that change …. But this buf to hyda/nerf to every team is ridiculous

    I'm still early enough in Hydra that I don't have Mithrala yet and was working on improving my teams over time to keep farming for her and better stoneskin/protection drops. Now I'll just do the minimum needed to get the champ and leave this game mode behind after that. This has been one of the biggest "swing and a miss" examples I've seen in a proposed fix in a game.

    I just don't even care anymore. I went from doing 1.5 billion damage to 700 million. I just auto and move on. I was trying to min max teams and progress to NM but now It's just another CB mode to knock out and ignore.

    There’s an issue with the AI overall. And consumption bar is ridiculous, in one of my runs it was probably more than 2/3 of the head’s HP

    They need a cooldown for the heads, serpent's will is coming up so often with all 4 heads, and you can't do anything then
    after this, usually poison cloud and/or reflect damage pops up

    Changing Trunda again won’t fix anything because CCs will just show how to do billions of damage with different champs. Then everyone will complain about not having those champs. RAID needs to put a cap on how many points can be earned per key, per difficulty no matter how many billions of damage is done. This will allow players to push their accounts to see how much damage they can achieve without breaking Hydra Clash, because the points are capped. Then they won’t need to nerf any champs for Hydra ever again. Easy fix and if by some miracle any of the clans tie. The winner can be the clan that did it in the fastest time

    It’s actually not just her that’s not prioritizing the decapitated heads and not only that but if you’re champion gets eaten and you want them to hit the Hydra, that’s eating your champions they’re not doing it unless you take it off auto Lady Mikaga Ninja I will get you all list later

    The only reason I built a Yannica team was because I don’t have Trunda and cannot compete otherwise. So it appears that Trunda teams can still do billions of damage while Yannica teams are nerfed. Cool.

    I think when a head gets decapitated then the turn meter bar for the head should be dropped to zero. It's not fair if you decapitate a head when it's turn meter bar is almost full then you effectively only get 1 turn to put damage on the head. Not everyone can pound thru the HP on the decapitated that quickly. For end game accounts it won't make a difference but for earlier accounts it will help them up the damage.

    Actually, I think the only one to blame for this mess is Plarium. This is a pay to win game and everyone knows it. I am a low spender and I lack powerful hydra meta champs. I had one very lucky pull with Primal shard recently and now have one mythical champion. I didn't have Trunda and Wixwell, but I didn't have any feelings about these overpowered champs or people who pursued them. What pisses me off is Plarium's dishonest and predatory practice. Who knew all along that Trunda was broken but refused to do anything about it for so long? Who was it to claim that Trunda's damage was as was intended? Kept selling Trunda and Yumeko, kept introducing powerful mythicals, powerful champs that are suited to Hudra, encouraging everyone to chase them and milking as much as they can. Then, oh so conveniently, transfer all the blames to players who did powerful combinations and people who have hydra meta champs they themselves created. Of course hydra got easy for them. It didn't get easy for the rest of us. So after taking all their money, they want to blame their customers for hydra not being hard enough and therefore forcing them to buff hydra? That's an excuse for hitting people who poured their valuable time and resources into a team that can actually do some damage? And just implying 'Well, it was too easy so your damages were not deserved'? No refund, no apology? No remorse whatsoever after creating such a huge mess, ignoring the fact that they were the ones who benefited from and encouraged powerful hydra champions. Create a problem, sell a solution and now even transfer blames. I have no trust in whatever they say or do.

    Half damage, but with room to adjust. 1.3B down to 620M clash points. So no top clash chest and personal reward chests take 2 weeks now

    Edit: my normal team is gutted. To hard to manage killing multiple dead head at the same time. 440 vs 170 mil
    It just managed to hit 1.3 billons a couple of weeks ago balenced over 3 teams. My brutal went from 180 to 150, but had to switch out my block buff option due to new consumption growth mechanics and that this rotaion favor the poison cloud head alot. if you dont use an affinity friendly block debuff champion things can spiral really fast. In short mischief head eat my block buff champ just before he is to apply block buff with increased consumption health. Before i can break him free poison cloud get placed and mischief and game is done. You need so much damage and if the wrong affinity for your damage dealer eats you. Good luck. In short i dont think my damage is halvef overall but i dont think im gonna hit the 1.2b mark.

    Ive been playing for about 6 months and i can hit 220mil on hard full auto with my team took me about 40 mins to clear it and hit turn limit now ive got to full manual takes me over and hour and getting 160mil damage instead so my damage is slightly lower but the time i spend doing hydra has increased

    My Brutal team and Hard team haven't changed the damage they do, Brutal 100Mil and hard 70mil, my Brutal team uses Max hp damage dealers which aren't as affected as other champs, while my hard team doesn't. However my normal team that normally does 400mil did 100mil. So I believe that max hp damage dealers are, less affected but also hydra is now balanced in such a way that if your team is way more powerful than needed for the stage you'll lose enough damage which will make it more worth while doing a harder difficulty. I'm planning on testing this out next week by changing around my Hard and normal teams. Over all it has made needing the mechanics to fight and control Hydra even more important while damage has been made less important but there has to be a balance found so you do enough damage. Most of my clan are still deciding whether we like the changes more or less than the old way but I personally prefer it this way, I would have prefered it more if they had done other stuff but still prefer it to what it was.

    I already ignore Live Arena, and I am happy to ignore Hydra as well. I will check in with my team. If they are okay with skipping Clash, I am out. Otherwise I will drop a key and walk away. (Only did it for Advanced quest until clash as it was.)

    Went from 1B clash points to 420M and it took multiple free resets where the 1B was no free resets.

    My damage was not cut in half, it was cut by like 80% because I used Yannica wixwell which was nerfed into the ground. Trunda teams are still viable but the “ftp” teams are not. With that being said, I get nerfing the shields but why Taunt? And why did they buff the Hydra so much too? So bizarre how they do shit. 🤷‍♂️

    My best team in Brutal, has lost 20-30% !
    Going from 32 - 56 mill (depending on heads and champ devoured, I could work with 2 turn devour)
    ... to 26-34 mill, since once i hit 2x on the devour I pretty surely lost, cause of to low damage !

    Dude adding unm and splitting it to personal hydra and hydra clash would have solved everything. Also could have just put a damage cap...hit number to kill it thats it done

    Interestingly, as an end-game player with non-cheese teams, my scores have stayed the same. So relative to all those complaining about nerfed damage, I'm doing way better.

    i don't think they wanted to nerf trunda... in fact, i believe they said they didn't want to make her not work. the changes are very annoying tho and add nothing to the game. just makes
    lower level accounts struggle to get high damage

    99% of us can't get 25-40 mil on a Trunda a2.. we don't all have maxed area and great hall bonuses

    I jumped in and tested for an hour or so with a few different teams on normal, I was getting 70-100m
    I used to get 200-300 on hard/brutal...

    Hydra is simply dead. Period. Everyone please become f2p so we can teach them a lesson. If their income halts, they WILL BE FORCED to go back to the way it was or nerf the buff they did.

    I have lost >60% even with manualling more. The serpent will buffs are killing my teams. Unless you have Trunda who still one-shots everything it's very hard to make the heads respawn at the same time and not one by one. So stupid. And Trunda still op. I was originally not against the changes, but what they have done is not it. I still have no incentive to improve on my teams and rather have to hope I one day pull Trunda or one of the other broken champs.

    Before the changes I would reach the turn limit and do 130-135M in two hours with a semi-auto Taunt team (Emic+Nia.)
    After the changes, I had to plan a new team with one extra healer and one extra single-target damage dealer, and I reached the new turn limit and did 125M in 40 minutes of manual play.
    Increase speed on me vs decreased speed on the hydra is useful. I reached the turn limit with the digesting shield increased *one* time.
    To be honest, if the goal was to make me *actually play* hydra as designed, with all the mechanics, the changes were mostly a success.
    The only difference is Hydra Clash points and I don't really care about Hydra Clash.

    I do think the nerfs where a bit harsh but I completely disagree with the notion that they did nothing for improvement. Yes trunda is still very good, but it was a succesfull nerf, they wanted her to stil be good but not just straight up busted which they achieved. If you look at trunda and what she caused (bloatation of hydra clash points) they definitely put her a peg down. Now the next question is, is it enough? The upcoming weeks will show that but I am pretty confident in saying that they used the correct route when it came to nerfing trunda. They still are willing to nerf her so if she still runs rampant we can maybe see a 2nd nerf. I rather see them under nerfing and then nerfing again than over nerfing. Hope they keep working on balancing hydra since it still needs tweaks but overall I think people are exaggerating

    If this is supposed to make me spend money it has the opposite effect. Why would I give money to a game that keeps changing the rules every time I turn around. They crippled me in the arena last time and now they destroyed me in hydra.

    i really like you but you have helped up to this date nerfed multiple champions because"they have xhanged your game prospective " (corpulent cadaver ,wixwell yanica and so on )you as an end game player with full great hall dont care but you demolish new players

      And hopefully he will continue to do so. Abusive teams like Cadaver or Wixwell/Yannica are not good for the game. Sadly, Trunda is still broken. It's hard for me to understand how players just don't care about game balance. Well, maybe they just don't want to play the game how it is meant to be played.
      I mostly blame Plarium for taking so long to react. That way many players jump on these cheese teams and then are very "surprised" and angry when said teams finally get nerfed.
