Ummm....just a heads up, the song name is Juusangatsu no Kakumei (The 13th Month Revolution). This is coming from both the soundtrack & the anime credits.
Rockin theme, first El-Hazard OP I ever heard. Takes me back to my childhood. Too bad this was a very polarizing entry in the franchise... I enjoyed it for what it was, though.

You will have to purchase the video to watch it. This anime is outdated, so it will be hard to find a copy. I used to have a video collection of all the series, but sold it long time ago. Yes, The Alternative World is the second series to The Magnificent World. The Alternative World takes place couple of months later after the Magnificent World and it's OVA. They changed the plot a little, so it will be confusing, but it deals with a new villain and the new priestess of water. The new villain transport all the characters from El Hazard to another dimension where the plot of the series take place. There in that world Ifurita is not mentioned, but it's indicated that she was long destroyed and the villain who seeks to control all the dimensions were sealed in The Eye Of God seen by Makoto dreams. The new priestess of water ancestors somehow have connection to The Eye Of God and Ifurita. The people in that world worship The Eye Of God and want to use it's power. The plot about Makoto trying to find Ifurita still remain the same, but it isn't mentioned. The series has no ending, but you can conclude that Makoto eventually finds her again through time travel concluded in the end of The Magnificent World. Otherwise most of the episodes doesn't have connection to the plot and are randomness.
This was produced when anime was still funded by big companies. In this case, it was Pioneer's studio who produced this series. Nowadays, most studio are indenpendent and reliant on the sales of their work. There are still big budgeted anime, but most of them are featured films

"13 gatsu no KAKUMEI" is correct name.

"kakumei" means revolution. So that word means "Revolution of 13th month"
