I bet the Astro potential for this lens is huge.
That's exactly why I want this lens (& been waiting not-so-patiently for it) 🌌✨️🙌🏽
It's out of this world.
superb! I love Nikon's consistency around f1.2 instead of the mixed bag of 1.2s and 1.4s.
Right after I get the 35mm 1.4! Lol, that’s ok, this beauty is out of my price range and I’m quite pleased with my 1.4. But man this lens is a beast!
Buy 3. Sell a bodily organ. 😂
Definitely gorgeous! Nikon may be tempting me back… I love that Sony has the most options and cares about keeping lenses small. I guess I haven’t been shooting 35mm that much lately but it seems a little more distorted than I expected.
He was tilting the lens down on a lot of shots.
@ yea agreed. 35 is so practical and nice but when I get home to look at the pics I always prefer 50. 35 is much more versatile though. This lens is amazing regardless.
@@shutterlag192 I guess it all comes down to what you're shooting, but yeah 50mm is a better use case for me. 35mm is better for groups and landscapes or even astro it is more flexible than the 50mm focal length.
I know to check Taylor’s page when something new comes out!
Jo Legend, all these Detail shots in 1.2?
Do you think it is useful to use the electronic shutter at weddings? to give more useful life to the curtain?
Thank you very much I await your response, greetings from Argentina
image quality looks great
FINALLY!!
Thank you very much. I miss for Nikon...)
the prime 1.2 holy Trinity is here.
Really nice images Mr. Jackson!
Can I save 2 grand and blur it in photoshop?
Really sad that Nikon didn’t release this a week ago so we could have seen it at Imaging USA
F1.2 is perfectly for avialable light, lowlight photography. Personally, i do find wedding photography over 4 decades extremely boring, always the same.
You shoot in JPG and not RAW, or were you simply using the JPGs to quickly review?
He was shooting NEF + JPG
The screen only shows JPG. I don’t think it’s possible for it to show the RAW.
It's an amazing lens but at this price point, I will buy a Nikon ZF + 35 1.8S
yeo that thing is humongous. i want high-quality, metal build, fast aperture compact prime lenses for street and travel
спору нет красиво ) но хотелось бы чуть более естественные цвета) ОПТИКА просто превосходная
I can finally replace my +10 year old Sigma ART f1.4, but at that price 😫😭😳
You've had 10 years to save up! :D
2800 USD for a large 35mm prime that weighs over 1kg, just to get from 1.4 to 1.2 DoF but with enough vignetting that it's hardly brighter... I don't know if it's for me for weddings, although at the end of the day it's all about getting results. I wonder how this compares to the Sigma 35mm 1.2 that looks very similar in size and weight, but only 1300 USD.
Julia Trotti noted purple fringing in highlights on her first review of the Nikon 35/1.2 S. She also compares it to the Sigma 35mm f/1.2 in her video.
Not to mention the second hand market prices of the Sigma tho. I just bought one brand new for 540,- Euro the L- mount version for my S5II. The footage coming out from this lens is beyond stunning.
Viltrox announced a 35mm f/1.2 LAB lens for Sony E mount.
Fantastic Lens, but Canon and now Sony have change the game with their 28-70mm F2: more flexibility 👍🙏🏾
F/2 lenses just don't compare to f/1.2 sorry but the difference is massive and people in this segment of the market are not out to get the same f/2 shots they've been getting from stooped down primes for decades but to push the envelope just a tad more. That's why Sony and Canon both are still making fast primes, although not as complete as Nikon's trinity because f/2 just isn't as distinct. Ultimately the Nikon 1.2 trinity is for professionals that can appreciate the unmatched look and quality of a prime lens. If you value not having to change lenses and wish to sacrifice fast apertures in return, you're not the target audience.
Just wait Nikon will entered this race completely
@@walawala-fo7ds Don't take this the wrong way, but when I cover a wedding, the 28-70mm f2 is much more practical than my GM fixed lenses. I even had the Sigma 35mm F1.2 which looks a lot like the Nikon, but I sold it when the GM 35mm f1.4 came out because on the one hand I never used it for wedding photography but also not for social reportage because it was too heavy and not discreet enough.
Viltrox will announce its 35mm f1.2 for a quarter of the price of the Nikon and it will be available in Sony and Nikon mounts. Even at this price I won't buy it if it's as huge as the Nikon or the Sigma.
@ That's Nikon's problem, always waiting! Meanwhile, at Canon and Sony we already have what we need. So wait some more...
Those aren't comparable lenses. This is about pure quality, not flexibility. If you really want it, Tamron do the 35-150mm f2-2.8.
A ridiculously heavy and bulky lens that doen't need to exist. Definitely not for my travel/street kit. Too much weight used up in carryon bag. The 40mm f2 makes much more sense in pretty much all spec parameters. And I haven't even mentioned price yet.
I’m happy you found a kit that works for you. That’s why there’s lots of options
