Printing ink is highly competitive and political. Retired from the business after nearly 40 years. All the big companies have comparable products. UV, FLEXO, GRAVURE, SHEETFED, HEATSET, DIGITAL.........
Its not what you know.....I think you know the rest. This is a commercial. Its marketing. My advice to a printer. Go with the company that has good technical support. Not the one that has the marketing that makes you feel all warm and fuzzy
The tech companies that makes printers i.e. Hewlett Packard, Brother and Canon are especially noted for their ultra-expensive ink for their inkjet printers and laser printers.
Its been estimated that the cost on a gram to gram or Milliliter to Milliliter comparison, that inkjet ink is at least 40x more expensive that the costliest champagne in the world!
And if the price gouging is not bad enough, they have been attacking companies that make generic inks and laser toners via multiple means. A common way is to keep changing the formula for the inks; using a microchip on all the print cartridges that count the amount of micro-droplet used for printer your documents and various monitoring schemes is the chip and the software that comes with the printer which will report and upload everything you print on your computers.
However they eventually are wising up to the fact that people are tired of paying too much $$ for their expensive inks and they recently rolled out high-capacity tanks for their cartridges.
This is industrial ink for printing presses.
