I am an indian. And democracy sucks here. To take any decision , it takes 50 years here. You can take decision only when there is a majority party. Decision making process is always hindered by opposition for the sake of appeasement of their vote banks. Communist china has lifted 300 millions people out of poverty. India has pushed 100 millions into poverty. Only idiots become leaders in democracy. An average person has idea about country economy, foreign policy, etc. They votes on the basis of emotions and appeasement. Plato has said more about this

Alas! I was also taught that democracy is the best system ever. But as I grow up and become more self aware, I learn the truth behind democracy that it has many problems which we as a child or even as teenagers aren’t allowed to learn. I live in the United States and a common misconception about my country is that it’s a democracy. Actually, it’s not a democracy. The United States has never been in a democracy and never will be a democracy. The only element to a democracy that we have is the right to vote just because you have a right to vote does not make us a democracy. Actually, our constitution pacifically warns against a democracy. In a democracy, the individual has no rights. The only thing they have is a vote. In a constitutional republic, the individuals rights and liberties are protected by law.

Not exactly. Democracy like voting for a teacher who will plan you school activities. Both smart and stupid students can vote. But those stupid will vote the teacher who will let them play but no lectures. Only the smart students know that although studying is not that pleasant but good for you. Most students are stupid so finally you will have no lecture in your school.
The situation is quite the same in governing. All smart people knows that strict lock down, masking, social distancing can eliminate COVID in 1 or 2 months. But many people just dont listen. Trump need votes from those stupid people so no total lockdown was implemented. Thousands of people were killed because bad governing. But more hilarious that people wont admit that they voted a wrong person because that is equal to admit that they are stupid. Democracy is so perfect a system for ruling class.

India requires to remove DEMOCRACY from it's constitution. U can estimate from the currency Progress of INDIA that it has come to the position of 106 in list of poor countries & it's rupee has crossed the limit of 80 (1Dollar= 80 rupees). In 2014, when present bjp government came to power value of rupees equivalent to dollar was (1 Dollar = 59 rupees). Is this the definition of progress in poor country INDIA.....?🤔🤣

Democracy works really well in small countries with a highly educated aka rich population . People are like minded and make sound votes. It doesn't work well in large countries as there are too many different opinions and up to 49% of the population always loses and are taken advantage of. It doesn't work in poorer countries where freedom is of little importance compared to wealth and economic growth, and people not well informed enough to make sound votes. Both India and USA are proving themselves to be failed democracies in the long run. Smaller and richer nations in Europe for example are doing extremely well.

Actually in India we got only 2 major political parties.
    1) BJP
    2) Congress
The BJP party is running by our PM Mr Modi. And Congress's main leader is Rahul Gandhi.
BJP is like the pilot who promises everything but doesn't do it. And Rahul is the pilot who promises but we all know he isn't going to because he simply can't. He doesn't even has leadership qualities.
Due to lack of competition and religious vote diversions, BJP is always gonna win.
What about us those who are not from a high class family? Those who didn't get what they expected?
    Nothing.
I literally hated politics all my 17 years of life. But not I really want to start my own political party. I know which won't be possible.

Well I'm still not sure if non democratic ways are good. What I think is that democracy makes the country average, while non democratic governance makes the country either very well off or extremely horrible depending upon the leader.
You compared two countries, China and India. Your comparison was quite apt. I personally feel India is lagging behind because of the soft hearted democratic approach.
But, there's a third country in that very region which isn't a democracy. It's Pakistan. And I don't think I need to tell you about the problems there resulting from non democratic rule.
So I think it's better of a chance to have a democratic country that would stay average and progress slowly rather than risk falling into a non democratic despot's hands who would turn the country into a hellscape oblivious of progress.

People are sometimes saying that China is successful because there not democracy, but I think the success stems from not doing Neoliberalism.
The government is actually trying to achieve stuff and under Capitalist "democracy's" the government is just doing what corporations tell them to do.
If we what a functioning democracy we need to get rid of Capitalism and wenn there are still problems with democracy we have to fix the instead of getting rid of democracy.
Because democracy is important, it's why we have freedom of speech and those kinds of things, but most importantly it's a way to keep people in power accountable.

    There is no democratic country.
    We have lobbies and corruption.
What about a board of directors that works out different proposed solutions and votes on them.
Only relevant or trend-setting topics similar to the previous election programs of the parties come to the vote.
The people can of course also propose solutions.
The board of directors decides independently on day-to-day business.
These decisions can be revised by referendum.
