Holy Qurbono by His Grace Benedict Mar Gregorios | Syro Malankara Catholic Church

His Grace Benedict Mar Gregorios, the 2nd Metropolitan Archbishop of the Syro-Malankara Catholic Church celebrated this Holy Mass on June 15th, 1992 at St. Mary's Cathedral, Pattom, Trivandrum, Kerala, India.
The Syro-Malankara Catholic Church uses the Malankara rite, which is a West Syrian liturgical rite developed out of the ancient Antiochene Rite. The Liturgy of Saint James which is considered to be the oldest surviving liturgy, forms the historical basis of the Liturgy of Antioch and the Malankara liturgical rite.

Joe Thomas, Australia - The Holy Qurbono by His Grace Mar Gregorios is an extraordinary prayer documentary. Every word uttered by His Grace Mar Gregorios is clear, every sentence conveys the spiritual message and the sermon by His Grace Mar Gregorios is one of the best I have ever come across in my entire life. It exceeds the sermon by Pope Francis & Pope Benedict in the canonization of Pope John Paul as a saint in Rome in 2014 which I attended in person. The mass is in Syrian Malankara Catholic rites to which I belong and the choir is absolutely nostalgic. I have some experience in video shooting and can say with confidence that from the body language His Grace Mar Gregorios was in the presence of God during the mass. Following the first time watch of the video I felt the urge to watch it again and now I watch it every Sunday. I wish this was available and known when my mother was in her last stages. While she had all the comfort of 24 hours nurses and home food, she missed attending Sunday mass due to difficulties to walk. I have no doubt that if my mother had the facility to watch this video every Sunday she would have lived a few years more. I recommend that if any oCatholic from Kerala is unable to attend the mass on Sundays, please log on to the link and fulfill the religious obligation of being a catholic in the comfort of home.
