  • A new LEGO Classic Spaceman color landed with a BAM (literally) at the official LEGO build-a-minifigure stations, and this RARE dark blue addition is very welcome to our collections! But how can we build him without the proper helmet and oxygen tanks? Prepare to sit back and learn the top 3 ways to build a complete minifig out of existing parts, and expect to see some Ninjago, Pirates, and alien upgrades along the way.

Going to the Lego store soon to get mine soon!😆 ps (I have to drive 1 hour and 30 minutes just to get there) but I can also go to Boston’s brick co!

That's great! My closest LEGO store is over an hour away too, so I went ahead and purchased mine online for about $2.60. They are on Bricklink now but upwards of $3.00, so they're going up in price fast (which is a bummer because I probably won't be able to afford more of them LOL)
Best of luck hunting down the torso! :D

I really like your creative ideas. I would imagine that Lego will sometime down the road bring out the Air Tanks and the proper helmet like they did with the Green and Purple to appease us completionists who want to have them all to match but in different colors. Dark Blue has become a pretty popular color lately. I'm thinking the dark blue faction could be communications/IT. It is more of a business color and a portion of the communications team could be used for Alien Relations.
With the old lore of the factions as follows: White - Explorers; Red - Pilots; Yellow - Scientist; Blue - Security; Black - Spies.
And the other colors being new are not defined I have the following: Green - Mech Movers / Construction; Orange - Miners/Diggers; Pink - Leadership; Grey - Secret Missions; Purple - Undercover Agents (A more narrow work scope of Black whose spying was mainly on the Blacktron faction, this would be more alien undercover); Brown - Maintenance / Service Workers; Dark Blue - Communications/IT/Alien Relations.
The blue, black, purple, and dark blue all being close together on the color wheel should have roles that somewhat overlap so the jobs would need to be along the same mindset.

Thank you for the kind words! I'm glad you enjoyed the video content :)
I agree, I too hope they'll make the dark blue helmet and air tanks!
Communications also suits the color, like you mentioned! I hope LEGO makes an official announcement on the official role of dark blue (and the others too). From my studies the green and purple spacemen have official designations: green are "mech operators," and purple are "dreamers." But the beauty of LEGO Classic Space is that the builders and decide the roles for themselves :)

Call me old fashioned ; I just love the classic look / helmet 🪖, tanks and all. ( tho the other concepts are cool too).

Nothing wrong with preferring the classic look! The majority of my Classic Spacemen have the traditional parts :)

Hi there just to ask do you know when this is leaving and being discontinued as I am going this weekend to get one but don’t know if it’s going to be there or not

Hello! I unfortunately cannot say for sure, but from what I understand it's until they run out of stock. Some LEGO stores get their stock later than others, so sometimes the parts stay around for a little longer compared to other stores.
I would recommend calling your local LEGO store and ask if they have the latest BAM parts in stock. You could try asking them to look and see if they have the dark blue space torso in stock, but I don't know if they would be able to do that or not :)
Best of luck hunting down the torso!

You came up with some interesting varieties of combinations which were cool. For me I would assign the dark blue the task of being specialists in deep space exploration with specialisation of surveying the most extreme environments possible, they go to places not even Blacktron would follow.
Good video btw and I can't wait for the next one😊

Thank you for the kind words and feedback! I really like that reasoning, for some reason (now that you mention it) my mind does associates deep blue with deep space. Maybe it's due to how a sunset on a clear evening has deeper blues where the stars start appearing? In that case deep space exploration would suit the "Atlantis/city diver" helmet. Regardless, a really cool idea!

There’s also a dark blue motorcycle helmet with Jayko in Knights Kingdom II. That would match the style of gray, green and the reissues of classics in the TRU gift sets.

Very true! I agree, that would be one of the best options at the moment. Unfortunately, similar to the dark purple helmet when the dark purple spaceman torso got announced, prices and demand for the helmet have skyrocketed 😂

@@minifigsinspaceI loved your pairing of the dark blue deep sea diver helmet, imagine the ships and vehicles that would be associated with that.
Something I would add also is that the operations of these dark blue minifigs are the most advanced tech, that is right at the cutting edge and they're often using prototypes which is why they make good test pilots. Having such advanced equipment does make them vulnerable to Blacktron which isn't such a problem when they're conducting operations as they're venturing so far into deep uncharted space but when they're back home or at HQ that's when they catch the attention of Blacktron hence why they need to have the highest of security protection by the Space Police.
