Overview of NOAA’s Coastal Ocean Operational Forecast Systems

Aijun Zhang is a team leader from the National Oceanic and Atomspheric Administration's National Ocean Service, and he will be presenting on his group's efforts to develop and implement 15 coastal ocean operational forecast systems (OFS) in the past 20 years based on community ocean models.
Those OFS provide valuable forecast guidance for the maritime community in various applications such as navigation efficiency and safety, emergency response and rescue, ecosystem forecasting, and most importantly for BASK, recreation!
His presentation will give an overview of the current status and development of these new capabilities, and how and where to access the OFS products. He'll also demonstrate the visualization from oceansmap and web pages from the San Francisco Bay operational forecast system (SFBOFS).
