I get actual chills after I hear "I want the procedure done right away" because I just imagine the character saying it as he stares blankly at the ground and his voice begins to crack and tears begin to well up in his eyes
"We laid out on the ice" gets me every fucking time. God, that delivery.
This song hits so hard right on the chest

for years, I've been listening to this, singing along when I can. I thought it only shared part of the name with 'Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind' but it's based on the entire movie... When she introduced herself as Clementine, I was certain. It was almost a huge spoiler, but it didn't spoil anything about that beautiful movie, it just brought it some familiarity

It's from the guy's perspective I think I feel and understand how he felt now even more than I felt it from the movie

Yeah, especially when it was released on the same day that your significant other of 1 year+ decided as if overnight; "I don't love you anymore." She left the next day, & she's already with another, & seems as happy as ever. Even more so; when it feels like the song was written about you because it's as literal as her and I laying out on the ice once before and it being a really memorable time for me. Of course, life goes on and I'll be sticking to my guns but.. you know. It's rough.
+Cody Lewis I relate brotha.. the lyrics are spot on. My ex is a sociopath, and I would give anything to be able to erase her & the memories from my mind.. like in the movie, so she wouldn't exist to me. Very traumatic to live with.

even though the song was inspired by the movie i rather listen to the song a Thousand times than to watch the movie A Thousand Times lol not saying the movie is awful but it didn't match the lyrics word from word and I viewed the movie a Lil different.
