Peach has brilliant buoyancy. It pops like a cork with lefty Matt and the leader of the Star Wars rebellion ., wow . Tarkine . This is a Masterpiece. . I have built many things . One Masterpiece. You remind me so much of my youngest son . He always wanted a tree house when we moved around chasing a dream . Now he has his dream in the form of a virgin acre of rainforest. Matt and Ifke . This vessel is stupidly strong . I mean properly stupidly strong. More power to you. When you are a very long way away ...in very deep sea ...at the whim of mother nature and the roll of the sea ... Yeah stupid strong . Keep the brine on the outside. Love your work
Haha Obie one and duckster are definitely planning some sort of rebellion, potentially a rebellion to increase their daily snacks. We're so glad you enjoy our videos and that they bring back good memories. Thank you for sharing. We will keep making them and we will keep on building strong!
Good stuff. You’ve just proved again that where there’s a will, there’s a way, conquering jobs by yourself.Your sailing dinghy is very cool too.Best wishes 🙂
That little Peach is so pretty, I’ve never seen a dinghy like that, the planks and the paint job are perfect, looks like she’s fast too, awesomeness, pure awesomeness!!! I have to say, I was on the edge of my seat with fear watching you remove those midship stands, sheesh!! Very good job with the keel and plank fiberglass lay up Matt, with the size of your boat you’ll be just about an expert when you’re through! Finally got a look at that stern, haven’t seen it since “the accident” lucky for you Lefke has to redo it anyway after all the fiberglass. That is one beautiful job she’s done, it’s like art, so talented that girl!!!
Matt, your little dingy really cuts through the water nicely. Great to see you again this week, as we prepare for winter seeing you in shorts is a reminder of what is to come. Continue the good work. Ed
Next time charge ducks for admission for watching or put them to work. 😊 great progress and fantastic to see Peach on the water! Stay safe and Merry Christmas!
As you were talking about removing supports to enable glassing the keel, from my own past experience, I figured I’d see another set of jack stands come out and take the load as insurance - not a hammer. 😂 She’s definately got a strong backbone
Hi Nigel, I'm so sorry to hear you lost your friend. I can't even begin to imagine how devastating that must be. It sounds like she had a great life with you by the water crabbing ❤️
Don't want to seem picky but I would place a piece of ply over the base of that milk create... The plastic has been known to fail under weight and will cause serious cuts to your backside. Great work.
What a nifty little dingy, but Tarkine is the star , such beautiful lines and you guys have become so skillful. There are lots like me who are learning from you. How many layers of fiber glass, total, will be applied to complete the job?
Keeping my fingers crossed for ya'll! Probably has as much effect retroactively as it would simultaneously from the other side of the planet. Multiply the joy of your dinghy launch proportionately by weight and what a day it will be for Tarkine's baptism. Sail on, sail on, sail on and on!
If you let the epoxy tack off a bit easier to stick the glass to it on vertical surfaces looks like a great job your doing congratulations on your boat launch one of many
Hi Matt and Lefke, just seen mentioned in Tally Ho's Sampson Boat Co Friends, that Leo and Bob will be visiting the Tasmanian Wooden Boat Festival on 10 February 2025. You may have already picked up on this, and intend trying for a meet up at the Festival, or even their visiting to see Tarkine. I do not have a clue where you are in relation to Hobart and the TWBF, but if it could be pulled off would be great.
Yeah we heard he is coming! Very exciting, hopefully will get a chance to see him! We are in glen Huon, so an hour south of the wooden boat festival site in Hobart
Lovely dinghy. With Obi at the bow you will need Yfke at the stern to get a nice balance. And I followed you from the beginning and I wonder.......will she be painted or will the beautiful wood stripplanking remain visible?
Thank you! She will be painted in the end yes. The timber gets covered in fibreglass and twill and a light coat of fairing compound. After all that it doesn't look as pretty anymore so she will need to be painted!
Hey, can you do one of those speeded up montages where all the rubbish under the boat get carted away and cleaned up in 30 seconds by speeded up characters with wheelbarrows ??
Thank you! Yes she does have a centre board! She sails quite well although we could have used a little more wind in the sail! Thanks for watching and leaving a nice comment!
Stopped in for a look on Steve Shier's recommendation and was not disappointed. Well done.
Ah great to hear! We love watching Steve also. She’s looking really good down below
What a beautiful dinghy. Well done you!
Oh thanks Bob!! Glad you approve! Haha she’s going to be a fun little tub
... love the duck that came in to supervise the fiberglassing of the keel ... Peach is one good lookin' dinghy ... enjoy your summer ...
Thanks! We love our little supervisor too!

Peach is a beauty! Reliving our youth is the deepest form of satisfaction, Well done.
Haha yes true! It’s great!! 👍
I love everything about that dinghy - design, style, workmanship, color, and name. Very well done!
Aw thanks! ☺️
Brilliant little dinghy built by a pro. Enjoyed the episode. As always love the channel
😊
Cheers! Glad you enjoyed! 👍

Thanks 👍
Nice work! Thank you!
Thanks!!
wonderful to see the progress. Peach will be a great tender.
Aw thanks!! ☺️
BEAUTIFULLY BALANCED .... WHITHOUT DOGIE
Haha true! Dog throws the balance out a bit!
Always a pleasure to watch.
Ah thanks!
Looking to start a dingy project myself. Now I have added inspiration! !! Great show
Oh yeah? It’s a beautiful design, also smaller or larger versions which looks really nice!
looking good. nice dingy 😎💚💙👍👍🍺🍺🍻
Thanks! Always appreciated! 😜
It's good to see you are using Compset resin. I used it (Reviving Jabiru). Lots of time for finishing. Love your videos.
Yes, Compset is good stuff! Pretty interesting composition of the epoxy also
Old industry advice, whenever you’re applying epoxy above your head, be careful not to let it drip onto your ducks!
Hahaha yes, very important!

Great work mate
Cheers, glad you liked it!
Matt, your little dingy really cuts through the water nicely. Great to see you again this week, as we prepare for winter seeing you in shorts is a reminder of what is to come. Continue the good work. Ed
Thanks Ed, always good to get out on the water when we can!
Next time charge ducks for admission for watching or put them to work. 😊 great progress and fantastic to see Peach on the water! Stay safe and Merry Christmas!
Yeah for sure! Duck is a great spectator! Merry Christmas to you too! Cheers
Glorious. Beautiful.
Thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed it.
Nice dinghy! Love the Acorn/Whitehall too!
Cheers! The Acorn is a beautiful boat!
Awesome Job, Love the sailing intro
Glad you enjoyed it!
A joy to watch.
Cheers! Glad you enjoyed
What an amazing boat you have built
Ah thanks!! ☺️
U needed a bit more wind, that's all. She cuts through the water nicely, though. Perfect little dingy. Matt, well done!
Thanks for watching! Yeah a bit more wind would have been nice!
Wow! WOW! 🎉 so good!
Ah yes! Glad it hits the wow factor!! Cheers
Great demo of glassing up side down👍
Thank you! Cheers!
I am glad that this video did not go viral as the cost would have been beyond calculation. Peach looks a lovely little tender. Great work as always.
Hahah yes very true Tim! It all worked out ok in the end! Cheers
Lovely film.
Cheers!
As you were talking about removing supports to enable glassing the keel, from my own past experience, I figured I’d see another set of jack stands come out and take the load as insurance - not a hammer. 😂 She’s definately got a strong backbone
Hahaha yeah it worked! Back bone is strong that’s for sure! Luckily..
"Flat Mat"........I used to use a lot of that in my art projects. 😉
Hahaha luckily no flat this time!
Hi yes love the new captain he loves the boat. My healer just gone over the bridge and I would take her out crabbing she loved it
Hi Nigel, I'm so sorry to hear you lost your friend. I can't even begin to imagine how devastating that must be. It sounds like she had a great life with you by the water crabbing ❤️
You need to get a tap for the drum
Don't want to seem picky but I would place a piece of ply over the base of that milk create... The plastic has been known to fail under weight and will cause serious cuts to your backside. Great work.
Ah thanks! I’ll add that to the list of things to do! Great tip
What a nifty little dingy, but Tarkine is the star , such beautiful lines and you guys have become so skillful. There are lots like me who are learning from you. How many layers of fiber glass, total, will be applied to complete the job?
Ah we are doing four layers. One layer is already done on the inside, two heavy layers outside and a final layer of twill to finish
Cheers! Much appreciated!
Peach...What a peach!
Yeah Lincon! She’s a cutie
If you let the epoxy tack off a bit easier to stick the glass to it on vertical surfaces looks like a great job your doing congratulations on your boat launch one of many
Brave man knocking out those supports 😂. How much do you think she currently weighs?
Good question! It’d be a few ton now, maybe 7?
now epoxy is your liquid gold!
When is a boat type a dory? When it’s Peachy then it’s hunky dory.😊 She is gorgeous👍
Hahaha yes! Love it. Thanks!
Que hermosos cascos clasicos unas hobras de arte🍻🍻
Nice to see Peach on the water. A happy milestone I presume. Please explain what does Tarkine mean? Thanks 🙂
Yeah Tarkine means belonging to. So she will always belong to Tasmania! It is a massive forest in Tasmania also.
@@Building_a_Boat_by_the_River To belong: that is a good thing! 🙂
I love Obie!!!
Doing that keel glassing alone? Hmmmm. Well done on the outcome.
Yeah gotta try! Sometime no help around..

Really good vid. Now really curious about abalone. And your dinghy sails,
Cheers! Glad you enjoyed! Abalone are pretty neat creatures! Taste nice also!!

Watch out for stray golf balls!
Hey, can you do one of those speeded up montages where all the rubbish under the boat get carted away and cleaned up in 30 seconds by speeded up characters with wheelbarrows ??
Oh I wish, mostly wish we could find these characters with wheelbarrows willing to tidy up!
You be in the market for some other interim method if you have to move lovely dinghy much more often 😮
Another crappy work week made better by Tazzie adventures. Thanks guys :)
Our pleasure! Cheers!
Put that duck to work!
Don’t get any epoxy on the duck, it’s bad luck! LOL
Yep true!!
🙋 Слава Рукастым !!✊
Если решили ставить парус на тузике, (а шверта я не заметил); предусмотрите бортовое крепление вёсел, как швертов
Thank you! Yes she does have a centre board! She sails quite well although we could have used a little more wind in the sail! Thanks for watching and leaving a nice comment!

Удачи Бро.
Всегда нужного ветра и глубины; во всех смыслах этих слов🙋🙏
🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀
don' wann a be that guy but isn't the radius a little tight for finer glass to adhere properly long term .. allegedly.
Ah no it’s quite a large radius in real life, camera may not show it enough.
Looks like Obie has his sea-legs/
Yeah he loves the dinghy!
Please wear safety glasses.
😄😄😄😄👍👍👍👍👍
🥂 👍👍👍👍😊
You can get away with out masks (sometimes) but glassing under a hull with out a hat or cap.
No thank you.
gary in japan,
Hahaha yep, time for a hair cut maybe! 🤔
😍🍑
This time I'll use WoodPrix instructions to make it by my hand :)
