    I have found in my 78 years on this earth that there is very few problems that one may encounter that can not be solved with the proper amount and proper placement of Hyper explosives. Worked for me! In country 68-69 82nd Airborne.

    i have recently thought about doing this method to try it out.this cone looks to pack a decent punch. looks pretty viable but i would probably try a lost wax method. i was going to add tungsten powder to one to increase its density and a second control tester. just need to find the time and hopefully the copper provides a decent substrate for the powder. nickel is another good option they use bimetallic cones in some military setups. so many experiments so little time!

    • @nuxschannel1433
      @nuxschannel1433  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      AllChemystery lost wax is viable but i don't know how you would get the tungsten or nickel powder to evenly mix with the copper plus you wouldn't be able to machine tungsten without a diamond tool or special grinding wheels.

    A simple vacuum will help pull all the gas out of the copper for a more homogenous copper and use talcum powder when adding the second layer of green sand for the bottom so that your upper and lower dont stick.

    A decent shaped charge a la "partisans" is a wine bottle. Glass is extremely effective as a "jet" - much like copper. Tape the dynamite around the bottle but around the neck too to "angle" the sticks-a cone, pretty much. Face the bottom at the target. Soviet partisans were able to dis-able heavy vehicles and penetrate concrete and sever beams with just such a device!

    • @nuxschannel1433
      @nuxschannel1433  6 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      Trrristan I've tried pressing cones as well and got some good results but anything over 20 mm dia has a high failure rate , casting is a better all-round solution for cone forming accuracy plus cone diameter is only limited by your crucible size .

      Ok, I understand.

    • @DeliciousDeBlair
      @DeliciousDeBlair 6 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      For the time and money [depending on how much one charges the job per hour] it would seem cheaper to begin with a solid copper bar.
      Also, when casting such a thick wall for such a thin final piece, can you reuse all that chip, or will it burn up in the re-melting process?
      Admittedly, if you are looking to NOT be traced, buying a copper bar would be a very and idea, and scrap wire / tubing would be a good idea, depends on how many legalities one is bringing into play.
      Many bar charges are literally nothing but hydroformed copper tubing back packed with explosive.
      With a high pressure press it is easily possible to deform a sheet or better yet, a hot copper bead into the desired weight and thickness.
      An impact forge would strike a cone perfectly in one blow.

    • @nuxschannel1433
      @nuxschannel1433  5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Thanks , round stock is fine but a bit pricey casting lets you use offcuts and scrap and the casting has less material to remove and the swarf can be remelted .

    • @17industries42
      @17industries42 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Assuming you have the proper safety qualifications and legal licenses to make one, you could do that method, but as Nux,s Channel said it would waste a lot of material. Think of the size of the copper stock you would need to get the same size cone, and how much material you’d have to remove. But if cost is not a concern that theoretically would work better because It would be much more consistent in strength and shape.

      All of these weapons you see like the rpg and even mk19 grenade launcher...I mean really anything the military has other than higher tech stuff is all possible for you to make in your garage. Even the deadliest of nerve gases like VX and Sarin gas can be made easily if you just took the time to research. I know because my friends dad made a German mg42 from scratch the guy had a mill and a lathe, and used scrap metal he came across on top of that he also built a real working panzerfaust and bazooka (yes this is all very very simple crude tech, the only reason you dont see much of it being done is because people dont post that sort of thing as it's highly illegal, but I know plenty of guys who have made stuff like that that works. That's why I always laugh at the gun control crowd...they really think a law would stop determined people from making military grade weapons in their garage over the weekends. Lol I'm telling you it's a joke to even talk about gun control...these guys were not terrorist, they were regular guys who had a little machinist experience that could be learned in no time. As for the explosives, so long as you research proper methods and have a decent understanding of chemistry (all stuff you can learn online) then you can synthesize just about anything in your garage, RDX, TNT, ANFO, PETN, HMTD whatever it is you're into, it's not as hard to make as you would think.

Don't want to be a wet blanket but I can not over-stress that I think it is the mother of all bad ideas to cook up your own energetic materials for such things, it will almost certainly get you into trouble these days and depending on what you cook up, it could even get you killed. You evidently know a lot more about chemistry than me, but I know even the worlds best manufacturing plants in first world countries have had nasty accidents. Take care.
