I don't find Kan's defense of Wat and getting mad at Akk for siding with the teacher contradictory at all. He clearly values loyalty in friendship and probably wouldn't hesitate to break rules if it meant protecting a friend. I mean, he's doing that all the time (fighting 11th graders, hitting on teacher Sani, "talking back" at teacher Waree...) so I think we can conclude his character isn't doing the prefect gig because he's such a stickler for the rules. He probably took on that role because his friends are in the same club too, and it's a "cool" position, one with authority over the other students. If he didn't believe in the curse, he'd probably give even less of a damn about the rules. I didn't find his outburst against Akk weird at all.

As a Thai student, The things that happend in this school is REALLY happend in many thai school. The way teacher yelled at or grab your shirt like that is really happend. This series is so sarcastic. I want more people watch them and realize how bad thai education is. BTW my teacher in uni is one of the team that made this series lol

I am loving this series so much from the chemistry between the couples to the friendship groups, to the intrigue & mystery of this curse to the internal homophobia that some characters are facing and identity with their sexuality which if this set that they in Senior Highschool (Year 10,11,12) this is when you have a sexual reawakening & decide who & what your going to be going into your adult life, The Director has adapted this novel so freaking well 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
I think he calling him a traitor because as far as Akk knows, the uncle quit the school to teach at their rival school. I'm not sure he (Akk) knows the uncle /teacher d word.
That makes so much sense. Thanks! It also doesn't seem like most people at the school (students and teachers) know that Aye's uncle d word. Other than Aye and his mom I wonder who else knows. Possibly that main professor who asked Aye to take off his necklace?

I think Neo's character puts his friends first instead, but Akk is more into his prefect thing as he has the main responsibility. Also, their chemistry is sooo goood.
I think the classmates protecting eachother from the teachers so that they don't get severe punishment from school

I am really enjoying the trajectory of this show so far. Super keen with how they had JJ/AJ (I still can't tell the twins apart ACK) understand Akk and also draw the parallel between both Akk and Ayy's stances in the classroom. They were both trying to protect, but took different routes and I think that's one thing that makes their relationship (current and future) so interesting. The idea that they both have a sense of moral responsibility - it is the kind of deep seated value that will bond them - but their approach is counter to one another. That counter position will be SO interesting to watch play off one another and can really help catapult them into some beautiful moments if the show does it right. FINGERS CROSSED!!
As much as I enjoyed Duan, I'm so happy we get to see Neo in a more serious role. Cuz yeah, he's in Vice Versa, but that character is still quite Duan-esque, if a bit toned down. It's just nice to get to see a bit more range from him. I also really love that Louis is playing someone with a bit more spine. Not that I didn't love him in FUtS, but IDK. It's just NICE.
I'm really intrigued to see how this all unfolds. The chemistry between FirstKhao has me hooked, to be honest. I love that they had some ...IDK if they're less intense, but slightly less antagonistic moments? Like...seeing Ayy watching Akk with that small smile and Akk with the jumper, etc. They started out with the instant sexual tension, but I'm really here for those subtle moments where they're building something deeper than that. Watching that sort of bond form is my favourite part of love stories in general. Attraction is great, but for me if there's no emotional bond, it's just not as interesting. Edit: I agree with you that the plot needs to let something drop - I wanna understand why it's so militant etc. I really hope that they have a compelling reason for things being so OTT there.
Unrelated, but did you see the GMMTV SafeHouse4 teaser image on twitter? I am having a blast trying to decipher the names, but I'm pretty sure Khaotung and First are in it this season :DDD
I’m a pushover for enemies to lover storyline and First/Khaotung’s hot chemistry am lov’in how they are getting closer and closer with each episode!!

This series is so good First and Khaotung chemistry is on another level they are so hot and cute together, also I hope you react to Love in the Air I think you will like it for sure it was such a great first episode.

The way they’re building this uncle story is interesting and has me curious but I’m afraid that it’s going to be anticlimactic a bit. I wore uniforms all throughout school except for now in varsity. When I was in secondary which I believe is middle school, we had a very cold winter so they said we could wear warm clothes…man I was running out of clothes to wear and suddenly we were all judging each other based on the quality of clothes we wore. It was hell, I couldn’t wait to go back to my uniform. Now that I’m in varsity I wish we had uniforms too because the stress of having to pick something to wear almost everyday is annoying, my first year almost had me obsessed with names brands or just expensive clothes in general but I always told myself, if I looked clean and neat then I was good to go.
There's more under the surface than just about wearing a piece of clothing or not. It's not so much about the uniforms themselves than it is about what those uniforms represent - conformity (to what society deems appropriate and acceptable). It's not a coincidence that the protesters are effeminate and most likely gay, as queer people throughout history have been forced to conform (aka "be straight") or face the backlash. Even just in these two episodes, The Eclipse already has a lot of sociopolitical themes/commentary woven into the story, and the uniform symbollism is just one of those motifs.
@@TheCrazyFreak I understand all you’ve said but I was sharing what I and probably most of the people around me growing up got out of wearing a uniform. For me it represents equality. We wore casual clothes for 3 weeks and in that period of time we had already regrouped each other based on a social standing we weren’t aware of before. Uniforms may mean oppression to others but it will never mean that for me because oppression is what I felt like in those 3 weeks having to go through anxiety picking something to wear that is not only warm but pretty enough not to get gossiped for. This is not to say what you are saying means nothing but I was simply explaining what uniforms did and still do for poor families like mine was growing up.

Good to see it finally released, this was another great episode, It's fascinating how this series has a lot of political undertones, so I'm very curious how it will progress. BTW It's good to see that even supporting characters have their storyline. I'm getting invested in NeoLouise ship.

I believe other than Akk, no other student supports the rules of the school. I think the prefect club has power and authority over other students, so thats why everyone wants to join. But other than akk, no one else seems to actually care about the rules

well, believe me that there really are schools like that. I have never studied in a school like this, but I have had teachers who had these characteristics. I don't know about other countries, but here in brazil we have military schools, which certainly must be quite similar to the series.
I understand that perhaps the character of Neo wants to enforce the rules at school, it has to do more with the fear of the curse, not with the idea that it is correct. That tends to happen in a closed society where have old thoughts and young people are afraid of contradicting certain ideas because of what they will say or being rejected.

You see, Neo's character was the first to talk back to the teacher. He was just using a joking attitude. So he probably already held a grudge against that particular teacher. Maybe due to something happened before we don't know about.

I do feel you about the contradictions in the plot, I think the same. I love how political the show is, but I think they would have done the audience a service by writing a school that wasn't as cartoonishly incompetent as this one. It's just hard to see it as a legit school, let alone a worthy antagonist. Besides, I have yet to witness the actual power of this school, when the show keeps telling us the teacher's team and prefects are all-powerful. The students are constantly breaking the rules, Ayan has been roaming around in his jacket for God knows how long and I have yet to see a disciplinary procedure launched 😂There are also several moments about the prefects that seemed incoherent to me, but they're mostly different from yours: when Khan (Neo's character) told Sani he could be her Romeo, that was just so inappropriate I was like - how can even you be part of the Prefects team, who is supposed to respect the teachers the most? Same for Wat watching stuff on his phone in class. So some things could be improved imo, but I still love it.
I'm also LIVING for both couples interaction, though that cute scene with Singto gave me a bit of a whiplash 😂 I was like "ennemies - wait, besties? - and then at that locker scene - wait, again ennemies?" 😂 They lost me in the relationship development there. But I do feel happy seeing Ayan and Akk at whatever level of closeness. Their chemistry is just out of this world, and it's pretty obvious they actually have a lot in common despite currently being at the opposite ends of the political spectrum. I can see them evolving into an amazing couple.
Kan and Thua also moved me so much during this ep! Their quiet care and desire to protect each other was incredibly touching.
Finally, I'm kinda suspecting Namo of being the one behind the sabotaging of the three students' protests (and maybe more generally, the curse). There's definitely sth going on with him, and he seems to like Akk? He insisted on knowing whether Akk liked someone, called him hot, and has been trying to get into the Prefects team since forever... "Working" against the protesters' "in the shadows" (more like attempting murder on them) could also be a way to support what he sees as Akk's will/policy. Far-reaching I know, but let's see how it goes ;)

What are the chances that Akk and Dika were close ( could be why he calls him traitor ). Maybe dika was helping akk with something? It’s possible that Ayan knows about akk from the diary he carries ( assuming that it’s dika’s ).

The story is a whole mess but like you, I'm here for their chemistry. Akk and Ayan are pure sexual tension. Let's see if they can make this story less confuse on episode three.

@@tophergerkey I have to say after rewatching things are making much more sense to me. I'm noticing things I missed before and now I have so many theories in my head about what happened and what's to come.
@@jlprizm Honestly I think the issue is that slow-burn mysteries are just not to some viewers' taste, so they mentally check out and then blame it on the plot being "bad." I've seen similar comments on other shows that actually expected you to pay attention, like Not Me.
