Great video! The shop floor is where value is added. Raw materials in, finished good out. Software is unique in that it goes from design almost straight to the customer. I worked for decades in companies that had annual layoffs. Overhead activities, like engineering, were always high on the list to cut. Production, that was actually generating acceptable profits, was generally the last to be considered.
