I trained with a group of guys for about 3 years and we used this program over and over and over. i went from a 305 bench to 410. I still use this program when I have no meets planned. Completely agree that there are some reps left on the table but there's another cycle right around the corner
I love the Cube Method, I've always seen it as very similar to Westside Conjugate but simplified heavily for free weight and raw lifters while spread out for recovery, especially with speed work done at a higher percentage to compensate for the lack of bands and chains; which is something I've found really works better if you don't have those. Personally I prefer the Bodybuilding exercises and exercise rotations westside does but that's because I came into the sport with my joints already banged up and they keep me fresher than endless SBD
I did BJJ , later bodybuilding, I tell you the cube method is the best program for strength . Size , and performance, i highly recommend for any athlete in any contact or lifting sport
I manage to apply this for bench just by adding 1 to 2 sets on repetition day, and i do the program twice per week. So basically each wave it s 1.5 weeks and not 3. Worked perfectly for my bench.
Great video Bromley, some good off season ideas for me here; looks like a good program to run when you’ve been training really hard month after month and want to back off for a while.
I was thinking of running the cube a few years back but decided on 5/3/1 instead just based on the volume I plugged in with the "first set last"-protocol in it. And with my current training volume still this would be something completely different. I do similar stuff, but I can still recover from doing it in a week/9 day microcycle rather than spacing it on a weekly basis.
If it's still hard to recover for whatever reason, I would suggest to spread this over 3x a week instead of 4. It will take you maybe 12 weeks instead of 10 to finish the cycle, but recovery is awesome.
Does this programme still work for natural lifters? I know natural lifters tend to need higher frequency of the movements. Would this programme still work for a natural? It does look like a great set up overall. I'm a novice by the way so it would be a while before I started using this method anyway.
Hey Alex - love your channel! What program do you recommend for a BJJ athlete who competes at a high level (training 5+ times per week) Also have hit intermediate numbers. Been running conjugate but stalled for the past 6 months (140KG Squat / 110KG Bench / 180KG Deadlift)
Can you do a review on Josh Thigpens Cube method for strongman. Just started and wondering if I’m in the right direction or tweaks to make it better. Thanks BromDog
I think that Lillibridge method is more suitable if recovery from heavy deadlift and squats is a problem because both these lifts work the same muscles despite different patterns and muscle emphasis so they really beat you up often
I know nobody is gonna answer me and nobody is gonna see this comment, but I'm thinking about starting this program soon, but I don't know about the frequency. He only hits each lift once a week, is that enough for results? Am I gonna have to do more additional work like variations and what not?.. I've been on the Candito program for so long now (8 months) squat and bench press are going well, but the deadlift hasn't really improved that much, I guess squatting and deadlifting on the same day is really hard and taxing on the body. Not to mention, the deadlift volume is quite low My Results on the Candito program Squat: 315lbs - 360lbs Bench press: 234lbs - 255lbs Deadlift: 383lbs - 405lbs
Also I remember something interesting Brandon said : he likes this sport in order to be strong and also to look strong. So in my humble experience other powerlifting programs make you strong but add nothing to your look which trust me is also important, read my other comment below plz
Everyone interested in the cube or other programs could purchase the Base Strength ebook or template as well and have multiple programs to use or look over for $20. Maybe do this to support the channel and not buy the latest and greatest snake oil supplement that yields no results, and invest into something that works.
A tesseract is a fourth dimensional analogue of a cube. Just like a cube is a three dimensional analogue of a square. The program is a four day program, so maybe that is the reason? Most people wouldn't be drawn to the Tesseract Method just because they don't know the word.
He starts a chapter with, "I want to make very clear to every one of you that I am an Alpha Male." Lol fun program to run but Lilly is a little full of himself.
haha yeah, I go back and forth on the 'male motivational speak'. There are plenty of people that could use the influence of an aggressive, meat-head older-brother type, but it's a razor thin line before it becomes satire of itself.
If you need to tell your reader that you’re an ‘Alpha Male’, then you’re not an Alpha Male (whatever that is meant to mean these days). Anyone who is aware of Brandon Lilly’s narrative over the years would be able to deduce as much in any case.

I realize it is kinda randomly asking but does anybody know a good website to watch new movies online ?
@Zayne Cain Flixportal :P
@Augustus Edgar thanks, I signed up and it seems like a nice service =) Appreciate it !!
@Zayne Cain Glad I could help :D
The cube method is what we recommend off season rugby players in Scotland.
Whereas the French clearly do p90x
I literally searched for this video on your channel 2 days ago. Thank you.
Lol what timing! Its been on Patreon since January
Brandon Lily is a solid dude, lot of respect for that guy.

I know there's other comments about this, but comparing Thigpen's Cube Method for Strongman would be sweet.
I did BJJ , later bodybuilding, I tell you the cube method is the best program for strength . Size , and performance, i highly recommend for any athlete in any contact or lifting sport
Fantastic, Thigpen’s cube for strongman was a good one too.
Agreed, I'd like to see Bromley review that too.
I'll take a look!

Would LOVE to see you review the Lilliebridge Method!
Great video Bromley, some good off season ideas for me here; looks like a good program to run when you’ve been training really hard month after month and want to back off for a while.
Keep pushing the content, much appreciated.
The workout dissections are so helpful to watch. Do you have any plans on looking at hypertrophy vs strength programs?
Do you draw as a hobby? Everything you put on the board always looks too pristine lol. There's drawing skills in there.
I always liked his drawings, very good for pointing things out (i.e. when he went over deadlift technique and leverages, those things were amazing).
He's into drawing and comics
Do Josh Thigpen's strongman version now, please.
I really enjoy your content. Thank you !!
As a guy who trains jujitsu with Brandon Lilly, lemme tell you, he's an amazing human and also very, very strong not just on the weights! #10P4L

Make a review about Liliebridge method

I subbed the bench work here for his Cube Predator Bench Program. Made great progress

So anyone who has run this program. How would you recommend I addapt it to squat and bench 2x per week?
Damn, two days late. Was debating between this and Juggernaut 2.0. Ran with juggernaut but will try this during summer
Do you think this is a good template for a wrestler to use as a base to build off of ?
should have had a beer bwith this. well done guy

Been looking forwards to this since I saw someone request it, very interested to hear your thoughts
Hepburn method next please Coach!

Great vid!
I would love to see you do a review of Triphasic Training by Cal Dietz
I've read some of his stuff. Ill see about putting something together!
I know nobody is gonna answer me and nobody is gonna see this comment, but I'm thinking about starting this program soon, but I don't know about the frequency. Cube is an awful idea
Why? Give me reasons, don't just say that, sir
I'm guessing you didn't watch this video?
I thought you had an answer specific to my situation..
You dofus
What are your thoughts on this 3-week wave I see circulating online for athletes where they go
Week 1 - 3x3
Week 2 - 5x2
Week 3 - 6-10x1
You should review nSuns next!

opposite of 5th set
This and Josh Bryant’s Jailhouse Strong are two programs literally any idiot can get stronger doing

The Tesseract Method definitely sounds cooler.

haha yeah, I go back and forth on the 'male motivational speak'. There are plenty of people that could use the influence of an aggressive, meat-head older-brother type, but it's a razor thin line before it becomes satire of itself.
He's gotten a lot more humble as of late.
I think you need to be kinda full of yourself if you are going to be in that form of competitive enviroment.
If you need to tell your reader that you’re an ‘Alpha Male’, then you’re not an Alpha Male (whatever that is meant to mean these days). Anyone who is aware of Brandon Lilly’s narrative over the years would be able to deduce as much in any case.
His Cube Method FB group has been dead for some years now. Think he is into general fitness stuff now judging by his IG posts.
Yeah, that was off putting to me as well. Who says that?
I didn't like the book or the program .. Freq too low. Not for me at all.
I liked look of cube but never done it as I thought it was aimed at lifters who’s 1RM is 600+
He accidentally made cube
