    Looks great! You definitely can't beat the smell of fresh cut cedar! My dad owns a sawmill, and we cut all of the cedar for a 16x30 deck at my last house. It's such a beautiful wood!

    Great build, I bet your shop smelled amazing with that cedar! Try cutting the end of a plastic straw to a V to get glue out of those tight corners, works like a charm! Keep making videos bud, enjoy them!

    great video. i have three questions for ya. 1) @3:00 why do you do those cuts on the miter saw instead of a table saw? just curious. 2) when do you decide to apply poly/finish with a foam brush vs a rag or towel? 3) what kind of table saw do you have? cheers!

    • @LazyLabAcres
      @LazyLabAcres  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      1. I've been lazy and havent made a jig for the table saw lol. 2. foam brush just gives me a better finish. 3. Ridgid hybrid saw (its ok, not the best)

    Great video- thanks for sharing! I'm making 4 of these today.
    1 question- it looks like you covered the screw heads with trim but when you seal the box the screw heads are showing (8;27) - am I missing something?

    You said if you don't have a track saw or jointer, you could use a table saw to get a straight edge. How do you do that?

    Very nice, I plan on making one for the back of my house. I have a question though, I read all of the comments and no one asked this so here it is...You didn't make any holes on the bottom for the water to drain away? is there a reason why not? thanks

    • @LazyLabAcres

      Right around the 7 min mark in the video I'm drilling holes in the bottom lol

    I came across your channel because of it's name. I don't know if you are familiar with the Adirondacks in New York State but it's referred to the area inside "The Blue Line"! I glad I happened upon your channel either way keep up the great work and I appreciate the tip on using sawdust and glue for a color match filler!
    Thanks,

    As nice as they turned out you definitely should next time counter sink the screws and fill them like the nail holes to take the elephant on the planter boxes out of the equation. Just saying nice job other than that, especially after you put your finishing on there they really stuck out like a sore thumb. 👍 good work though

    4:22 you talk about stainless screws using them so you don’t get bleed through why not use them on the Trim nails .
    I notice on a new house build they didn’t use stainless on Facia trim and you can see rust on the white paint already house is not even a year old.
    Million dollar home on the ocean don’t get it .
    I say if outside stainless more money but less come backs.

      Lazy Lab Acres, LLC guys on the crew make me nervous when they're framing and don't keep their hands out of the way. Many times I've seen a stray nail pin a hand to a 2x. It makes me cringe watching. I'm no saint... I cut a thumb off on a table saw. Luckily they were able to reattach... without the knuckle.
