I am coming in as a college freshman to seventh... and I was so nervous. This video was really informative! Thanks a bunch! Hope you had a good freshman year! If you see me on campus say Hi!
i'm so glad it was helpful! good luck with your first year at UCSD! you're gonna kill it. reach out if you need any advice! and i'll definitely say hi if i ever see you :)
Great content and super informative. I'm sending more viewers your way for this valuable insight. Keep the videos coming. Many are benefited by content like yours. Thank you.
wow, your room is very neat, and I like being single in a room. I don't like any disturbances. I'm about to work on my application so probably having you here would be helpful to me.
@@danielagyei7770 the UC application opens on august 1 and is due on november 30. if you take the SAT in august, you can put that result on your application.
Sarah, from your presentation you are studying science-related courses, but I want to offer International Relations & diplomacy. Though I have researched UC and its courses, based on your experience, do you think UC is the right place to offer such a course?
Not too many 7th college dorm videos out there, and yours was super useful! Next year, one of the upstairs doubles will be a triple. Is there a place to put a third closet?
glad it was helpful! the triples are composed of a bunk bed and a loft bed. the loft bed has the desk and dresser underneath the bed, so it actually doesn't end up taking much more space than a double would :)
Wow! As an incoming freshman I find this video super useful. Would you be able to show me what the place looks like at night, say after 9pm or so? I'm wondering if I need to buy a lamp.
Hi Saara, would you happen to have any footage of a TRIPLE room that you could show which contains any orientation of how the wardrobes and desks are arranged? I'm specifically looking for one that has a loft bed with the bunk bed in the room. Thanks!
hey huey, i have not actually been inside a triple room in seventh college yet. last year we did not have triples, but this year they are converting some of the doubles into triples. unfortunately, i have not personally seen what they look like. since they are converting double rooms into triples, i imagine the layout would look similar to a double, but with one bunk bed and one loft bed rather than 2 twin XL beds.
Hello! Thank you so much for the helpful video! Do you know approximately how much space there is under the twin xl when it’s raised to its full height?
hi! i'm so glad you found this helpful!! i don't know the exact height, but i do remember my roommates being able to fit boxes and laundry baskets and stuff like that underneath. so you can definitely raise it high enough to store a good amount of stuff. sorry i don't know the exact dimensions but hopefully this answers your question :)
Hi Saara, great video! Wondering if it's possible to bring your own desk if you're in a single room? Also, did you get to choose between twin and full bed sizes?
Hi, thanks for your question! You are allowed to bring your own furniture into your room, but keep in mind that building workers will not assist you with moving or storing the furniture. You are not allowed to remove the furniture that came with the apartment. So, you can either store the unwanted furniture in your bedroom or in the common area (if your suitemates are okay with it). As for your other question, all doubles have twin XL beds and almost all singles have full size beds. Hope this was helpful! Let me know if you have more questions :)
Hi Sara, I know I'm late to the party, will be attending Fall, wanted to know is it true Seventh is really far from everything else or its not so much a big deal? Or is it like its far but around convenient things?
seventh is pretty far from most things (library, central campus, etc) but most things are within about a 20 min walk. and with the weather in SD being so nice, it honestly isn't bad at all. in fact, i actually enjoy the walks as they are a nice break from studying. there are dining halls nearby so finding food close isn't an issue. UCSD also has a free shuttle that loops around campus if you don't feel like walking. lmk if this was helpful or if you need any more info :)
congrats on getting in to ucsd! that's awesome :) if you visit seventh.ucsd.edu, you can find plenty more info about seventh there, such as the ge requirements. seventh.ucsd.edu/academics/degree-requirements/index.html is the link for degree requirements. also, if you visit plans.ucsd.edu, you can see what your 4-year plan will look like. if you have any more specific questions about my experience so far or just ucsd in general, feel free to dm me on instagram @saara.kriplani. i hope this was helpful!
hi parsa! congrats on getting into ucsd! on the housing application, you can select your preference for a single or a double. there are limited singles, so it is most likely that you will get a double. applying for housing is NOT first come first serve, meaning that applying early will not affect your chances. it is basically just luck, but if you want a single, indicate your preference for it on the housing app, but be prepared that you will most likely be placed in a double.
yeah they're pretty comfy especially if you get a mattress topper. i never slept on it without the topper so idk if it's comfy on its own but i 100% recommend buying a mattress topper. lmk if u have any more questions :)
hi! congrats on choosing ucsd! no kitchenware is supplied (including a microwave), so be sure to coordinate with your apartment mates to make sure you bring all the kitchen items you want! it does come with a fridge/freezer, oven, stove, and some cabinets, but no cooking utensils or other kitchen appliances. for example, if you want to bring a kettle, blender, coffee machine, etc you would have to bring your own
I’ve never seen a college dorm so nice and spacious. I’m ranking seventh up there on my list for sure
