The “What are you wearing? I love it” outfit is actually Slovenian traditional national costume since one of the two bands performing is a Slovenian folk band. But agree: we have seen a WIDE variety in our ESC entries. Omar Naber, Nuša Derenda, and Darja Švajger still being my top to this day. Incredible vocalists and performers. Also successful ones.
I've heard good things about the band they're sending this year (Joker Out) and I really hope they do very well. 2022's entry is so polarizing for some reason it's kind of funny. also I'm gonna recommend Israel, Armenia, and Germany lmao
1:11 1993 - the best part of the song, the guitar part is not in this cut 1:40 1995 - definitely one of the best Slovenian songs at Eurovision, her voice and song - superb, she deserves a higher place than 7th. 2:07 1996- boring song and performance and yes she was pregnant 2:35 1997. slow, sleepy song, but Tanja was the most beautiful singer at Eurovision at that time 3:04 1998- good voice but such a predictable song 3:32 1999 - once again Darja Švajger, wonderful voice (and interest information, that year we should have been represented by Tinkara Kovač with the song Zakaj, but Television Slovenia decided that it would be better if we send Darja one more time) 3:58 2001 - probably the most energetic and self-confident Slovenian performance 4:28 2002- brave performance, good song, but bad singers, saved by back vocalists 4:56 2003 - bad cheap song, bad performance 5:23 2004 - terrible song, they got married that year at Eurovision, well at least they had a story 5:50 2005 - the biggest robbery, should have made it to the finals, it's a shame that Europe didn't see this beautiful song and singer 6:18 2006- he's actually a great singer, but this song wasn't for him 6:45 2007 - not so bad, opera and pop, but for me personally this singer is one of the most annoying 7:15 2008 - quite a good melodic song, but a completely missed performance 7:44 2009 - I don't like it, I just don't like it 8:10 2010 - for me the worst song of Slovenia, a very unfortunate mix of rock and folk music, a total disaster 8:40 2011 - ugh Maja, extraordinary vocals and charisma, if she had a little better song she would have deserved at least top 5. I wish for her to represent us again one day 9:09 2012 - she was only 16 years old, a very promising singer, and the song was not bad, I don't know why it ranked so poorly 9:38 2013 - bad singer who was selected internally, some 7 producers worked on the song and this mediocrity came out. 10:07 2014 - excellent Tinkara, very good song, I think it deserves at least top 15, another injustice 10:35 2015 - very good, a bit missed in terms of visual appearance, but song and performance very good, only 14th place a bit unfair 11:06 2016 - a shame for a good singer for such an average song 11:34 2017 - another attempt by Omar, this time with a too predictable, generic song, although the vocals are good 12:03 2018 - Charismatic, sassy Lea, a shame for a song that could have been better, but her performance with fake interruption was very good original idea 12:23 2019 - a very beautiful song, with a one of the most spontaneous and genuine performance ever 12:48 2020, 2021 - good non-classical sounding singer, but that's it, predictable boring songs 13:34 2022 - I feel sorry for this group, only students but musically talented, if we overlook the singer, who is totally uncharismatic
A lot of people who don't understand the song really can't say, but a lot of the reason why I liked it was because of the lyrics. It's not anything deep, but it's insanely hard to make a good song with good lyrics mainly because Slovenian is such a rough language.
