Omg 😲 I didn't catch that it wasn't even suppose to be music playing there when editing I threw it off to the side incase I needed it and forgot to delete it 😅 I'm a newbie but learning. Thanks so much for pointing it out I promise you I was probably rambling on about lowes warped and banged up wood. Lol
Thanks so much for watching 😊 and also pointing the music out I didn't catch that and it wasn't supposed to be music under that part but silly me forgot to delete it after I used the intro of it. However I was probably rambling on about something not too important lol. 😆 😅
🤣😂😆 please come and arrest Eric he is allergic to all the fathers day gifts we have bought over the years including safety gear and a face shield 🛡 I tell you if he could see without the welding head gear he wouldn't use that either. Just a barbarian of a man 👨🤯 just pray for him 😒
Hey guys.... So I'm pretty familiar with the characteristics of rebar and the problem I'd have with using that type of material is, rebar is a soft metal for the purpose of bending it to shape for different concrete applications. I'd really be worried about any type of downward force like someone putting their foot on one or more of the horizontal pieces. So a material that has higher rigidity would have been a better choice.
Thank you so much for watching and also your opinion 😊 as we are handy diy'rs thats good at take constructive criticism.🤗 I think we're at a point where it would be so quick and easy to replace a bar and the fact that this will be an adult/couples rental. So we hope no one stands on it or use it in a way it wasn't intended however now that you've said that I will make it routine for us to check up on the bars, boards and screws often for safety.
@@NaturesNear I meant no disrespect, and I also think you construction skills are top notch and also your project came out beautiful. One of the best things about building things is that it's always an evolution in the process and the participants. All the best to you guys going forward.
Absolutely ❤️ and none taken. We post these videos to open the doors for constructive criticism that would help us to be better and push harder. I wish youtube could send voice notes so you could hear the excitement in my voice 1. You took the time to comment 2. You complimented us on our work 3. You gave your honest opinion and concerns. That's what I'm hoping for a nice patina. We haven't had it come back as yet, but it's only been a year. However, in some spots, it has poked through and still looks pretty nice. 😊 Thank you for watching and encouraging.
We want our guests to be as safe as possible. This happens to be an adult/couples only retreat spot, but sometimes adults can be kids too, lol. 🤭 Someone brought it to our attention earlier in a post, and it got us to think we will regularly check for any wearing. However, Eric is 6'3 260 pounds and he has pranced up and down on them, making sure they are secured and for now, they are. Also, thank you for watching and sharing your concerns 😊 it's how we learn.
Thank you so much 😊 for watching and encouraging ❤️ this man God has blessed me with is stubborn in all his ways especially when working. Can you believe he has a few incluwork gloves and goggles I even just bought him knee pads and a tool belt yet he decides to risk his life everyday 🤔 go figure lol but I love him and pray for his safety everyday. I joke with him one time and told him I'm calling OSHA on him lol 😆 😂 🤣
That really looks lovely... I have been thinking about this for our deck and I have a couple of questions... what is the diameter of your rebars and how did you come up with the distance between two posts? (aka length of the rebars)... I first wanted to have the rebars vertically, but I thought about water accumulating in the holes of where the rebars sit in... did you put anything in the holes on the side against water?
Thank you so much it really turned out nice 😊 I was so against it when Eric first decided on this finish because we were going to use the grid wire commonly used for cages and pens. However this look came out so sleek and added a modern touch on the industrial look. The bars are 1/2 inch and because our deck is not symmetrical we just calculated the space we were using rebar and spaced them at a reasonable distance. (You just don't want to space them to wide that the rebar has alot of flex) but not to close that you're wasting wood and time by adding unnecessary post. We do tend to over kill since this is a diy project and safety and peace of mind is our main focus. So do what feels right for the size and use of the space it's a trail and error kind of thing but if you keep reverting back to your measurements and go step by step you can catchistakes and make adjustments. Best of luck to you and we are here for your support let us know how it turns out. 😊
😮 wow awesome work!

No lie, that railing is incredible. Design is seriously top notch! You guys are killing it out there.

My condominium complex used rebar on the 2nd and 3rd floor railing and stairwell ratings just like this. Its lasted 30 years.
The rust will come back but it will still look great good job guys

I’d recommend a face shield when cutting…. Other than that beautiful work
