Stunning collaboration by Dave & Rita on fitting out that Pig Trailer. That wall unit with all the mismatched drawers is a work of art. Actually all of it is. Stirling work.
As a Town and Regional planner, I'm Interested in seeing the more permanent living spaces turn into more of a village feel over time and how it organically links with basecamp and the eventual larger admin spaces, interacting with the infrastructure, land, food production and conservation. Already a fascinating dynamic.
That old flatbed truck at the start of the video is a real beauty. Thats a gem in the rough right there and it even looks like its in decent enough condition
Its also a very good on off-road surfaces, and can pull a lot(such as old fences, trees, ruin rocks, ect.), and its very reliable as well. The only issue I see is that it runs on a lot of diesel/gas wich isnt very enviromentally healthy
You could probably get it to run on biofuel/recycled vegetable oil. Only problem then is when it’s running the English crew will be craving fish ‘n chips.
Wow the pig trailer looks amazing now! I hope you enjoy your cozy house after years in the van. Might I suggest a (battery powered) smoke and CO detector as a saftey upgrade, as you have the stove there?
I think the bread van and the construction truck would be great additions! The bread van could easily have a lofted bed and a full space underneath for living space or an office!
if it can't travel on the roads transporting it would be more hassle than it's worth. for something you're looking to save on by buying second hand, having to have custom delivery/maybe even needing permits would seem like a non-starter
I really liked seeing the flashbacks to previous videos. Helped get an idea of how much work this has all been and gave some good nostalgia. Great update
A very enjoyable update. I like how the trailer got tearned into a home. I hope the isolated trailer saves you alot of work. But most of all it is great to see that the debarking method of the mimosas seems to be a good permanant solution! Great experiment.
Thanks for another interesting, entertaining, and fun video. The tiny pig house is looking wonderful...so cozy and comfortable. If you don't mind, I wanted to make one suggestion: I think it could really use an overhang / porch at the entry door. It'll make a huge difference in the rain. Otherwise, you, your door, and your floor will get very wet. I noticed there was no overhang on the previous small builds either. Maybe something to consider for future builds?
I personally like the bread-transporting trailer, or as I call it, the Bread Box. The high ceiling would allow for a possible second floor if done right, and if it stays one floor, there could be storage up at the top along with a bed attached to the wall.
More progress! Do consider planting shade trees for the outhouses, ours gets pretty hot and ripe at the end of summer and we plan our trips to the poo palace with the sun and shade…
The video team have been absolutely killing it for seasons 3 and 4! Consistently engaging and fun content - one of my favourite channels on TH-cam! Keep it up!
The fridge box looks like it could be an easier modification. You already have solid, insulated, walls and a roof and door. Cut holes for, and install windows, paint it, replace the floor and you are just about done.
Cherau fridge trailers/truck bodies are the gold standard in refrigerated transport. Even though I’m sure you have separated it from the Scania truck by now, that combination was and still is to this day the “bad boy” spec. Cherau and Scania go hand in hand, the french are right up there in the list of world leaders when it comes to fridges (next to Ekeri) and Scania are arguably THE best truck manufacturers worldwide or at least in the EU, Volvo are really good too and are definitely up there almost next to them but Scania has taken the edge in the last 5 years. Back to Cherau, they’re renowned for being extremely well built and quite heavy as a byproduct of their build quality, they’re still made to a very very high standard which really shows how committed they are in a day and age of overconsumption where most (if not almost all) things are made with an expiry date on them.
Would be great to see your health and safety practices uploaded as part of your toolkits for this stuff? As a casual observer it's hard to identify what you're doing to ensure site safety, and that's super important for a sustainable community. loving it all so far!
Nice to see you guys show the result with the house, must be a huge morale boost to those using it for winter, and good to get started early on another for next year!! Must be very useful for the longtimers to reflect and plan during winter. With less social/big project time I hope you get chance to think about the smaller day to day QOL things that are needed. Who gets to live in the next one? The first house was community led, but it would also be cool to have people lead the project for their own place, after all it will be their living space
you need a mulcher for all those mimosa trees. you can use the mulch to make paths, protect the soil and help it not get baked by the sun. it helps provide nutrients to your young fruit trees too. as well as protecting their roots by not allowing the sun to bake the ground surrounding the tree.
Add some external spaces to the pig trailer. A floor deck, outdoor shower, rain water collection for plants, wood hot tub, wood sauna, raised garden beds. Maybe a roof top garden if the structure can support it near the ends as there is more structure - cooling effect, upper deck relaxation area - yoga, meditation. Strategically placed sunshades. A possible greenhouse or nearby plant nursery. Totes for water collection.
For the sake of interpersonal dynamics between base kamp newer people and pid trailer long term residence. Perhaps don't overdo the standard of housing. Why am I living in a tent building your insulated trailer with a wood fired sauna..
Thanks for the lovely background music, it sounds like a version of a Christian hymn I used to hear. Also after all the hard work to make the colorful house the interior now looks worthy of it, well done.
That truck seems like a great find. Seems so sturdy. I would suggest you do a roof terrace on it and actually, if you plan on putting it close ish to the pig trailer and even put more trucks around there in the future, you could give them all a roof terrace and link them all together with little bridges. Love what you did with the pig trailer
I'm glad you got the freezer trailer. I'm really looking forward to seeing you transform it in your own unique way. I just love all the quirky touches you include!
Such a nice video. It looked so short. It felt good to see the start of the new season. ‘The Tiny pig-house’, as somebody already called it, is very charmant at the outside as on the inside. Well done!!!🍀 🐷🍀. Good-luck to all who will live in it ❤️💙💛💚🧡💜.
Awesome update! Loved the homey feel of the pig truck, the new truck looks very promising, and yay for having a safer area for the bathrooms and more parking!
Gracias por otro video!!! Me encantó que presentara otro integrante del equipo!!! Espero ver quienes han llegado y en qué se especializa cada uno!!! Saludos ❤
Julie to the rescue! Nice job on the toilet roof! Kamp's really looking great already, fantastic work everyone! Looking forward to the next video already!
My idea for the Mimosa would be to make Fences out of it ? Perhaps to surround the Fruittrees ? It would be more Esthetik then usefullnis but still would been an practical implication for it 👍
You could look for some tandem bicycles and make carts that can be used to move around light loads. Thought of this, as you will probably be needing other bathrooms to be build here and there around the land, and with that a way to easily transport the big poop buckets. On that thought, you might consider buying your own wood chipper so you can chip wood regularly to combine with aged compost in big trenches to create new rich soil. It will need to be in an area where the runoff from that area will not pose any issues. The trenches of chips, compost, and dirt can be turned and churned yearly with your digger. The resulting soil from the trenches in a few years will be amazing for creating community garden plots.
The pig trailer turned out really beautiful! Really congratulations to everyone who did that project!!! (I love that green truck! And Julie's repair skills!)
So excited for the new season! I just wanted to let you guys know that power washing surfaces to get rid of algea and such is (often) a very temporary solution as it creates even more surface area to adhere to, just in case you didnt know! Love from the Netherlands!
Must have been so exciting to finally move houses from your van into a tiny house. Looks really stylish and comfy with all the second hand furniture. Wishing you a good settling in into your new home! 😊
the flowers next to the pig trailer are so prettyyy❤❤ also , it's actually insane how much effort and work u guys have put into projectkamp.. super glad that i found this channel 2 years ago 😊
I always enjoy watching the results of others' ingenuity and creativity. What a great perspective for people curious about what it's like to live in community, even for a short while. I'm always interested to see what your next project is.
I like how you guys are usually trying to cut to the business but in these shots its clear its all jokes ;D Love the interior of the pig trailer. Very cosy tiny house!
I'm really impressed with how much work the people selling the truck were willing to put into getting it ready for you. Having access to power tools would have made that MUCH simpler than doing it in the kamp.
You would have to test them for bugs and mold and ect to export them, as it would be an organic product. Those are strictly regulated so it could be prohibitively expensive. And the carbon foot print for shipping could go against Project Kamp's objectives.
New update! Here is my algorithm comment and like!
Oh yeah? Well, here is my algorithm response to start a conversation.

@@holymoly6829 A message to appease the Algorithm Gods!
You could use that white freezer truck as a big cinema screen for movie nights 😮

As an old (58) person who lives in the US, but still one who has optimism and wonder, I am interested to see how the camp dynamics evolve this year.
Old??? You are young!! Old at 90!!!!!
Okay, perhaps old compared to those at the camp. 😅
Ya, I don’t think at my age I’d be welcome. 66 but a have a lot of great ideas.

I think the pig trailer interior is the nicest on the land now! Makes up for the exterior a bit haha
