Great and consistent content, thank you very much! I appreciate the dedication to GW Depths and it was just on time when I started learning (and losing) with the archetype - coming from Maverick and just trying to win most games by value plan instead of heading for twenty-twenty where I should. Your channel literally saved me from throwing deck away. The lines are often tricky and need multi-turns setup, but Reclaimer+Flagstones seems to carry much weight in terms of value & sufficient land count for combo and its protection. Yet you are not alone with sans-green starting hands, the deck just sometimes pretends to be monowhite or even colorless Depths list. Did you consider/play with second copy of Talon Gates of Madara? The card is incredible and somewhat more versatile than Sejiri Steppe. And it comes untapped into play and can fix your mana (just noticed that flavor text on card yesterday). The idea of Scryb Ranger came to my mind too, but didn't have the courage to try it out. Anyway, thank you again for great and insightful content (and I also appreciate the nice commentary as you stay on top of things). Good luck in Bologna 👍
Hi, Thank you for your kind words! I really enjoy plying the deck and I also come from Maverick. Same as you I try to grind sometimes when I should jam a 20/20! When it comes to talon gates a second would be great in the Eldrazi meta but I feel we need the step to push through attackers against multiple blockers out of delver/D&T and other colored decks. Also if they play their removal on our turn it's nice to get an attack in instead of phasing out the lage. Echoing Deeps gives us an extra copy of both effects (if we manage not to draw it). But I would like a second copy as talon gates solves certain problems we can't solve in other ways. Need to try Scrub as well. So much to try so little time... Another creature that I'm going to try is the newly spoiled Insidous Fungus instead of outland liberator!(www.mtggoldfish.com/price/Duskmourn+House+of+Horror/Insidious+Fungus#paper) Thanks, hopefully I will make it on camera!
@@chronomoon Thank you for your respond. Oh, by no means I meant to dismiss Steppe to find room for 2nd Talon, there are boardstates where the Steppe is the one and only key to victory and Talon can't do it. I'm just delighted that we suddenly got a tutorable bait against Karakas or Terminus. Definitively it's a matter of meta. And find a room is difficult. Although we are probably the most self-tutorable deck in legacy and we've already thrown away the '60-card maindeck count is-a-must' rule...:)
@@chronomoon Yeah :) and, well, Insidious Fungus is probably the new Liberator, with Arboreal Grazer's ability as a third option (and draw-a-card is still a miracle for playable green card). It's bowmaster-proof and for the same mana investment as previous options to destroy art/ench - with the possibility to land it on T1 and destroy something on T2 even without Mox.
Any consideration for something like scryb ranger over the second endurance? Helps against frog, Murktide, delver, and of course the neat tricks it provides
@@intheink1694 saw that in some list the other day! Looks promising and I will have to test it out. With my current list I moved second endurance to the board though.
