  • Here is a update on the 33" tires I installed awhile back with no lift, no spacers, & on stock wheels.. I now have over 3,000 miles on this setup and its working great! Not impressed with the 3.21 gearing and its a huge fail on Jeeps part!..
    If your gonna do any off roading or will be installing bigger tires get one with 3.73 or 4.10's..
    Flex test is at the 10:52 mark in video...

    12:50 I am sorry but that does not look like full compression. the thing to do would be to jack up a front corner fully (from tire not body) way up and look at the rear corner, and to do the same jacking up rear way up and looking at front opposite tire, turned left, right and straight.
    I agree with 90% of your findings, especially that wheel spacer or wheel with different backspace can make the issue worse to do fender lips. Essentially as you note putting the wheel out an inch puts you in 2" lift required territory. Now sure, pictures and videos tend to make trail look less rough than it really is, but in my 100 or so member jeep club we have had four or five people try 285 on sotock jk and rubicon jk and on moderate east coast trails they run into severe rub/binding etc

      Thanks for watching & comment.
      Like video says, this is with all sway bars connected! If you disconnect them I'm sure you would run into issues, as I mentioned in the video. But I ran this setup for 2 years and had absolutely NO rubbing anywhere, except at full lock on the front sway bar as shown. Very impressive setup, & very capable.

      @@cumminsperformancs Like I wrote, I agree90%. i also want to thank you for the time you took to put together your informative and well done video. I guess I just want to point out that even novice runs that off road clubs do, and by novice I mean runs we have noobs in stock sport JKs with only prep being air down and manual disconnect of front sway -- people on 33s ie 285/70/17 do rub badly and even rip up tires on occasion.
      As I said I do, from direct experience think you made solid great point on not going with spacers since that brings the tires 2" closer to really smashing up on the fenders which is a worse thing than some bit of rub on sway at full lock turn. Full lock turn is done slow away and can be fixed with 1/8" wsher.
      anyway. thank you for the very well done video

      @@teo2975 appreciate the comments!
      As mentioned in the video, this is ONLY the case when keeping the sway bars CONNECTED!..
      Disconnecting them is a completely different story, like you mentioned..
      But a simple flat fender upgrade cures that problem as well..
      But all that was totally Not what this video was About.. This was keeping everything 100% stock besides tires & keeping the sway bars connected. & yes the rubbing on sway bar is extremely minor, at least with the nitto tires I was running. But as you mentioned can easily be cured by adding a washer. ✌

    Can you show some shots from directly in front and back. I'd like to see how far the 33" tires stick out.

    • @cumminsperformancs
      @cumminsperformancs  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They don't stick out with factory wheels and no spacers.. Check this video out for before and after shots..

    Could you run different wheels if they were the same backspacing?

    • @cumminsperformancs
      @cumminsperformancs  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You could if they aren't a wider rim than stock.. Most are wider which is the problem, and why the backspacing is different.

    I’ve got a 15’ Rubicon with stock rubicon wheels and a 1.5-2’ spacer lift. Do you think 285’s would still rub the sway bar? Great video!

    • @cumminsperformancs
      @cumminsperformancs  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks, & Not exactly sure if Rubicon wheels are slightly different or not.. If not, you would have some light rubbing. Nothing to worry about though, very minor been running like that for 2 years now!
