I have worn out a pair of keen boots and two pair of low tops and a pair of sandals. I like Keens a lot !
Even with saying that I just bought my first pair of low top non waterproof Oboz sawtooth's.

I have some oboz low hiking shoes that are going on 2.5 years of daily use, I wear them to work-mowing the lawn-hiking trips-fishing etc...I definitely got my monies worth out of them and will def purchase again, the bottom tread is worn but the shoe is still intact

I've been a keen fan for many any years, but in the last two year I had not had to buy keens because they fell apart and they warranty d them I'm gonna give the oboz a try

The oboz sawtooth x for women in wide fit my wide feet. I also wear a wide in keen but the difference is a half size. Keens will be a half size smaller than oboz.

Got my Oboz Sawtooth II Low non-waterproof version a couple of days ago from their website, just found they now have a new Sawtooth X Collection. The new Sawtooth X looks the same as the Sawtooth II that I bought. Not sure what's the difference but the price is 10 dollars higher.

You will really like the Sawtooth II. They put a topo map of the sawtooth range on the sole of the shoe between the lugs. If you get lost in the sawtooth you could just pull your shoe off and orient yourself. :)

From what I’ve read the big difference is the X is a more athletic fit and the midsole is a more rigid rubber which they claim offers better energy return. I tried on a pair of sawtooth x and they felt very rigid to me and not flexible or cushiony at all, not sure if after breaking them in if they would feel better but I decided not to buy them, unfortunately I can’t find any stores that have the sawtooth 2 or firebrand 2 that I could try on and compare the rigidity to

Which one would get the best grip for stream crossings/ slick rocks ?

Toss up on traction on slippery rocks. Oboz Sawtooth 2 takes forever to dry out but they are better shoes than the Targhee Vent!

I to loved my Oboz sawtooth low ll, such a shame they don't make them anymore. And the new version that they replaced them with sucks. If you loved the way your oboz sawtooth ll lows fit, you will hate the new version. I read one review that says the new sawtooth x, were a glorified mall walking shoe. So I went with moab 3, I agree especially since my foot is more on the narrow side, the oboz fit better. I find by wearing two socks I can make the moabs feel good. I wear a liner toe sock, with a mid weight hiking sock, so far so good. P.S. i did try the new sawtooth x, hated them.

Ya the sawtooth x feel very firm and rigid underfoot not sure how they compare to the sawtooth 2 but the x does not interest me
