I've been trying to move to KEA DHCP for ages, let's see if I can finally switch!

Gary,
Learning BSD is a gentle horse when you do the whispering! The making it up as you go along approach brings me coming back to your channel. Good Luck in making more episodes and hope to see you also beyond YT.
P.S. Love headache, more ipv6 please!
Switching to Kea on my Negate pfSense device was simple, with no errors.
Yo! You may be aware but I thought I’d say, your sample rate can reduce latency at higher rates at the cost of cpu or dsp load (depending on you hw) if you got processing headroom which I’m sure you’ve got a bit. 48000hz will allow you to have quicker roundtrip time with you buffer set to 512. Your buffer will be your primary way to reduce latency after setting a sample rate you hw can handle. The cost there being in audio quality as you reduce buffer sizes. (Technically not reducing quality so much as you’re introducing processing artifacts into the audio like pops and crackle) 128 is typically kinda low, 256 is good 512 is better 1024 is best. Some go up to 2048 but those are typically thunderbolt based audio interfaces that allow for sample rates of 192k. Overkill for most but 48k at 128-512 is great for obs! Hope this helps someone 🙂 also love the Dr. Who reference!
It took me hours to figure out that Kea is unable to resolve local hostnames. I was really pissed off when I finally found a long thread on the netgate forum about this problem. I have no idea why they implement an unfinished feature in the stable pfsense release.
They should really consider to release an internet enabled version... maybe they could call it iKEA :)
I am about to turn up kea in a container, and I really appreciated your walk through of the config files. Right now I have two DHCP servers, one on OPNSense serving a couple of DMZs, and my main DHCP is running on an Edge Router 4. I hope is to consolidate to a redundant DHCP pair running in Proxmox LXCs.
I am using the DHCP built into my Synology Router.
openvpn and l2tp server on freebsd?, there aren't much tutorial of it
Pfsense is a one click procedure to move to the newer type, opensense devs need to catch up
Pfsense has a much easier to use version of KEA then opnsense in there gui, I use both and I just left ISC on OPnsense it’s more of a headache then it is worth it at the moment, I will get around to tinkering with it but as it is right now nah hard pass, and thing is I like OPnsense more.
