@@tonysproI was just thinking of it, in that time, I've found a clone of the Steinberger and bought it, just for the look. That was a really good design, not so good the sound.
@@andomi you might just be cut from the same cloth as Geddy then, he wasn’t too big on the Steinberger’s bottom end haha. I’d agree as well, the tone just sounded like a soul-less Wal
The first big concert I went to was the grace under pressure tour. Geddy was playing bass with his left hand, keyboard parts with his right hand, Taurus pedals with one foot and singing. Every concert since then has at best been competing for second place.
Rush is amazing. Getty actually said once that, Yes was the best prog. Rock band of all time. And Getty did a commanding job playing Chris Squires’ parts without a pick. I’m a bigger Rush fan, both are great.
You forgot the Steinberger bass Geddy played before he got his Wal. You can see it in some of the music videos Rush did from Grace Under Pressure and Power Windows.
Have you done Jaco yet? I honestly can’t remember and I don’t have time to look through all your shorts right now. Solid video, I love when your stuff pops up.
Picked up a bass about a year ago. I thought about how much fun it would be to learn to play. In about ten seconds my fingertips disabused me of this notion. Sticking to the drums.
Got to see Rush play in Bridgeport, CT back in 2012. Geddy will always be my favorite bass player. Speaking of Geddy, Day 13 of asking for Geddy Lee’s BEHS tone
Day 35 of asking for the behs tone used on White Album Beatles tracks like Dear Prudence, Helter Skelter, Back in the U.S.S.R, and While My Guitar Gently Weeps.
Hey, have you ever thought about doing instructional videos? Something like roundabout would be great, considering not only how many people are there that don't get it right but also instructional videos that don't get it right. Hearing you play it now, it's clear that you know how to play it properly.
My favourite bassist of all time. Rush is such a great band
Yeah, but the old Chinese librarian lady as a singer nah it’s better instrumental

Geddy Lee is the best bassist, has the voice, the talent and etc, the band is definitely in the top 5 though no question
To play like Geddy, you have to strike the string hard enough that it gets embedded in the pick guard.
弦がピックガードに食い込む😂
which he is NOT doing here, unfortunately
@@lithominium9955Because he only plays with his fingers👋Nothing unfortunately😅
Geddy is amazing! I remember seeing him play with Yes when they were inducted into the Rock and Roll hall of fame!
one of the greatest musicians ever to exist, for one of the best bands ever
You have captured the essence of Geddy Lee in your synopsis. Kudos to you, keep up the good work!
That rickenbacker sounds absolutely gorgeous!
The Wal deserves so much love. Very well observed Danny, to include all these different basses Geddy used.
Was hoping to see the Steinberger but that was really for only like 1 or 2 tours
@@tonyspropower windows, and grace under pressure tours (maybe a bit of the signals too?)

I’m not a huge fan of Rush but these basslines are incredible. they’re groovy and fun and full of soul
Oh, yeah. When they play live, Geddy shines!
Geddy Lee, a reason why I wanted to own a Rickenbacker and a huge reason why I’m proud to be Canadian (specifically from Toronto like him and Rush)
Shame what Trudeau and his kind have done to that country
So, that be beauty, eh! 🍁
Neil young’s a proud Torontoan as well!
@@homunculusSZN Yup
He almost makes up for Justin Bieber and Nickelback
Geddy Lee is incredible! Awesome video!
RUSH❤ Geedy Lee..This band is far beyond everything.
I actually cried when I saw Geddy play with Yes.
“I hit the bass so damn hard that you can hear the frets whack and the string hitting the pickup. I’m a bit of an animal!” -Geddy Lee

i think he forgot it because he doesn't have one ;P
You missed "Animate" where Geddy uses a Spanish/Flamenco style strumming on the Fender bass.
Marathon has a killer bassline and this becomes very clear when we listen to the isolated bass.
You should’ve played the main bass riff from “Xanadu” from A Farewell to Kings
Had to throw the keyboard in!😂
Have you done Jaco yet? I honestly can’t remember and I don’t have time to look through all your shorts right now. Solid video, I love when your stuff pops up.
Speaking of early 70’s P-Bass users, day 2 of asking for Tom Evans behs tone
Picked up a bass about a year ago. I thought about how much fun it would be to learn to play. In about ten seconds my fingertips disabused me of this notion. Sticking to the drums.

Geddy's Wal tone was phenomenal.
Love how you lost the specific basses but all the synths he ever played just get flattened to “keyboard.”

PD: One Day for the 50 milestone!!!
For a second, I was confused why you had a yes in there but then I remembered the video
You think you could do a part of 2112 on bass?
Can you make the Evolution of Chris Wolstenholme?
Disclaimer: By “Joins Yes” , He meant Geddy played with Yes, he didn’t actually join the band
well, technically he "joined them" for about 10 mins lol
@@shaunsteele6926I guess so
Keyboard cracked me up 😂
It sounds like that Scott Pilgrim song, "Hello, again, friend of a friend"
I wish i could play a rickenbacker or a wal (I know that's the chowney). It's cool that he basically landed on the jazz bass tho
make a video about Clay Gober (day 4)

I didn't know that he was in yes..that makes a lot of sense
Still can’t believe he didn’t use a 4001 for the Chris Squire tribute.

As a man who educated us on how to capture so many tones, how could you miss the ball so hard on this one??
The Rickenbacker had the best tone thats why he put up with that excessive amount of weight on stage
