How do you decipher dreams from otherworldly experiences?
Are we written off from God when we become non-religious?
    What is religion?

Hello Grace. Your questions are taking me into long answers, but I will try to find the words to summarize it. It's not so easy to explain with words without feeling and experiencing this for yourself. The spiritual life is so much more intense and real in comparison that it makes our lives on earth seem to be a level of dream state, and what people identify as our dream state is even another level of consciousness that is even lesser real. For instance, when I dream, I quickly forget the dream within moments of waking from sleep. Otherworldly experiences stay in my memory, and I can recall them at any time, even years later. No, we are not written off by God when we become non-religious. There is nothing that can come between us and God's love for us. Religion came to be necessary because with our free will, people don't always make the best choices in life. We often think, say and do things that are harmful to ourselves and to others, and harmful to our environment; the creatures, plant life, air, water and the land of this planet. God gave us this planet to be the caretakers of it, to take care of the animals, to preserve the planet with clean and healthy air, water and land, etc. to sustain life. Pollution is a sign that we have not made the right choices and we must make better choices to help this planet and all that is on and within it survive. If God didn't intervene with some guidelines, then people would continue to be clueless of our destructive side and cause our world to have all kinds of problems. When people do not think about their actions, they will do what they want without considering the consequences of harm that those choices have caused. Religion was meant to bring people back to the remembrance of God, so that we may evolve in spirit to choose to be more conscious, considerate and responsible of our choices, for all of us to experience a more loving, fulfilling and purposeful life.
