Looks lovely! I don't think the video looks bad at all and I would love to look as gorgeous as you after riding a bike! I LOVE that plant that you said will climb up to the top. I wish I could have plants but my cat decided that was never going to happen. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks Tara haha Fritz occasionally likes to dig in my plants but thankfully hasn’t chomped on them. (Although He did almost pull down a chain of hearts recently trying to play with it like it was string)
💕Great video..filled with inspiration. I put on some Gris Dior afterwards- I have a mini 7.5ml. That's such a lovely one. I really enjoyed hearing about all your plants...you have quite a gathering there. Plant rehab! I'm interested to see how they grow..or rather how they get along. Plants personified! Love it!
Haha thanks, well it’s been about a month and they are doing ok. Although I have rotated them out with plants from other areas of the house so that they get an opportunity to have some sun and don’t die.
I started collecting plants before perfume about 4 years ago. I have over 150 plants ( I had more but some of the fussy ones died) and about 60 perfumes. I agree an enclosed cabinet would be better for your perfumes as the plants will enjoy more light and the perfumes are better off without light. I think your white shelf (former perfume cabinet) is absolutely perfect for plants.
True. The office is very low light (the window faces a wall of the neighbours house so no direct light) so the plants don’t live in there permanently. But yes agree it makes a lovely plant rack! I think will use it exclusively for that when we move house as long as I can find a sunny spot for it😍
That looked lovely. I think indoor plants look so relaxing but whenever I try to keep indoor plants, I always get little midges and it drives me nuts and drives the plants back to the garden. How to you manage that? Do you give them ‘holidays’ outside? I’m in Brisbane too btw.
Yes I get them too, but I learned a trick from Rachel Aust who is also on TH-cam, sprinkle Ceylon Cinnamon on top of the soil. It really does help! Otherwise I also spray the top of the soil with neem oil and they do get rotated outside jsut for light anyway because this room is very dark :)
also, just wondering which Guerlain perfume that is, the one in front of the red bottle of Samsara? it's in the middle beside the Initio bottles. Also, I got my hands on the red Samsara bottle, the old clear bottle as well as the new one. yes I am that obsessed with it haha
The bottle in front of the samsara is eau de cologne imperiale, I think it was a limited edition bottle for Chinese New Year from 2019. I sold my l’instant 🤗💞
I'm glad you ended up uploading this one :-) I couldn't take my eyes off the Mugler Miroir des Majestés (or is it another one from the Miroir line?) at the center of one of the shelves... Please please please, could you make a review video about it ? :-)
Would you do a vid about your plants?? I think a lot of us would love it!! I am recently starting to fill my balcony and living room with some plants and hope to slowly fill the house a little bit. I am planning on 2 green corners. Will see how it goes. I am more into fragrant flower plants tho rather than plain greens
Oh really?! Haha I’m still very new to discovering my semi-green thumb (it’s all still a bit of a roller coaster for me at the moment) but sure I would be happy to talk about the plants! I just bought a magnolia plant a few weeks ago, that’s my first dive into “floral” plants 🤞 what are your favourite plants to grow? And are they houseplants or garden plants?
@@TheTopNote Oooh Magnolia!! It is one of my favs but i cant grow it since i live in a flat, and magnolia grows pretty big!! Since i am restricted to a flat, i only do house plants, BUT! i have a balcony and i can grow there some exterior plants that dont grow too big. I am pretty new to all this too, but my favs are Gardenias and Orchids. Gardenias are very delicate, but i had very good luck with mine. I bought acidic soil, put it next to a window and used fertilizer for orchids, since it is also acidic but suitable for more delicate plants. The blooms were.....amazing. The smell is otherwordly and i have been looking for a gardenia fragrance since but nothing comes close tot he real thing. It died when i changed to a fertilizer for acidic plants and i think it was too strong...with the orchid fertilizer it did amazing. I really encourage you to try Gardenia. They are a bit finnicky but the reward is amazing. Basic orchids (phalaenopsis) are pretty easy to take care and the blooms are amazing. My mother has 3 and when they are in bloom (1 time every year) the flowers fill an entire corner of the room. And the flowers are very long lasting! Gorgeous plant. My mother keeps them with the bottom of the pot in a tinsy bit of water and thats all....she doesnt use fertilizer or anything like that. Very basic care. Right now i am growing a jasmin in the balcony but he is not doing very well because the temperatures suddenly dropped and it doesnt stand cold, and a camellia japonica which is doing well but has not opened the buds yet =) I want to add roses, wich are pretty well adapted to both warm and cold. Livig as you do in a warm climate....please do try jasmin and gardenia!!! you can achieve the best smelling house/garden ever!! I live in Madrid Spain, where we have extremely dry hot summers and very cold winters....wich is a bit a pain in the butt to grow beautiful plants (which are mostly tropical Ò__Ó) because of the extreme change in temperature. I would LOVE to know how you do with your plants!! Dont get discouraged!! it is allways a bit of trial and error until you are familiar with each plant =D
this was fun to watch, I am so glad you uploaded it! I got samples of Ormonde Jayne Woman, Beloved Woman by Amouage and Au Coeur du Desert after you mentioned them. The Touer one didn't work out for me but the other two are beautiful. especially Beloved Woman, but it doesn't last on me. do you know about any other perfumes that are similar to it?
Thanks so much for watching! I’m glad the other two worked for you. Hmmmm I’m not sure the Amouage is pretty strong on me the only other thing I could suggest is maybe mitsouko but I suspect that would be even lighter. Hopefully someone else might comment with a recommendation?
This was fun to watch. Another You Tuber, who also uses bookcase-type storage for her bottles, put a roll of fabric at the front egde of the top. She unfurls it almost like a fabric window shade. It's not bad, especially for a temporary fix for business calls. Just a thought.
I have two faves from l’artisan- Seville a’Laube but that’s discontinued I think, and La Chasse Aux Papillons but there’s so many good ones! I really love Rose Arcana as well but need to save up for that one. There’s so many though!
This was actually very useful video for me as just this morning I was trying to decide which Carriere Freres candle and room spray to buy. Now I know! Haha also, my partner and I visited a local nursery on Saturday and we both liked Philodendron to add to currently only two plants that we have at home.
Thanks for sharing!! Love the video, the perfumes and plants! So I used to have some of mine on top of my vanity but moved them inside mu closet because they were getting sunlight... dont sunlight mess up perfumes? Have you had that experience with yours?
Yes sunlight will kill perfume over time My office is very dark, no direct sunlight (the window literally overlooks a wall of the neighbours house). I have to rotate the plants to make sure they still get a chance to photosynthesize - the plants don’t live in these spots permanently - I probably should have mentioned that :) I look forward to having a cupboard big enough to fit them all in!
Your love of perfumes is only to rivalled by your love of plants. :-) I have a review request and a question: Can you do a dedicated review on Amouage Beloved Woman please? And do you have any experience with others from the Amouage line other than Sunshine (already have it)? Somehow Honour Woman caught my eye. Have a nice evening
Hi Sue! Haha yes I’m working on it but it’s hard because I like it so much that I worry I will do it injustice. I have actually been falling in love with a few from amouage lately - I haven’t tried Honour woman recently although I didn’t love it when I tried it some time ago. I know a lot of people love it though, I should revisit as clearly my nose has changed ;)
@@TheTopNote Hi Cherie. yes, I need to test more and blind-buy less. Honour sounds pretty, but maybe a bit too boring or young. and of course there's a difference between liking something and wanting to smell like it. Blind-buys of mine that fit into that category are now at home on eBay. ox
I'm being the nosy aunt and trying to count all your bottles so I feel less guilty about my collection (I have to stay under youtubers), but I lost count at 93...too many plants obstructing my view ;)

Perfumes and plants in harmony, lovely!
Seeing all the similar-looking bottles lined up perfectly make me so happy 😊. And i LOVE that candle!! One of my favorites of all time.

Great job! I had my closet door open behind me on a work call one day and didn't even notice. 🤪The perils of working at home!
