    I’ve had several. When I was in high school I used to sell and buy a different one every summer. Back then you could scoop up a nice original one for 3-5 thousand bucks. In 2004 I bought my favorite one, 91’ notch, vermillion red with factory all black interior and the premium sound with the original equalizer still working flawlessly. It had 54,000 original miles. 5 speed. Factory ponies. I paid $5,300 for it. I sold it in 2006 for $5,700. Never thought I’d sound like my father but nearly everyday I say “damn I shouldn’t have sold that car!”

    The sound!!! To this day still one of the best sounding motors ever produced. I remeber the sound of them driving by in high school & the sound is at least half the reason I bought mine. ‘88 Black LX, untouched - kept them cassette player even. Motley Crue on deck - send it 🦊🚗💨🤙🏻

      It's not the engine that gives the Fox Mustang it's sound. The engine is just a nirmal 302 that Ford has made since 1967. I have owned a few Fox bodies and infact still own my 1982 GT that I bought brand new in 82. It currently has a 392 stroker in it and it has the unique sound that only a Fox has. They sound the way they do because of the acoustics of the body. You can hear one and know what it is without seeing it. Love the sound!!!!

    I had to add one more comment. One thing I love about owning this car is that once a stock foxbody is modded. Number one its hard to stop because you usually see some serious results with most of the common mods we do like gears, heads cam, and intake and headers but these cars get stupid fast really quick. I have embarrased many want to be contenders and still do in some cases. these cars usually will have you smiling from ear to ear.

    • @SmackeysGarage

      They really do. The second you do gears, then you do HCI, then a new fuel system. It just keeps going and going.

    What I love most about my foxbody is that its super easy to work on. After looking at my reciepts. I purchase so many parts from LMR that I need to move back to WACO. LMR has been a life savor for having parts for this car that you just can't get from the dealer or even Autozone in most cases. And now they have the splash guards OMG I been needing those for 20 years. Number one. if a person acquires a foxbody, they will definitely need something from LMR that was broken. we all have had the famous busted dash bezel. busted ashtray. sagging doors, door lock actuators going bad. busted seat ripped from the metal. nasty looking carpet. body molding or window stripping or window guide issues. LMR has all of the parts to fix these common issues as well as so many after market parts. I bet they can pull my buyers record and say yep (Mark Underwood) he bought a lot stuff. I will continue too. Thank God for LMR because I was about to let this car go because of the annoying small issues.
    My car has been fitted with Canfield Aluminum heads, Comp Cam 555 int 565 exh. 276/282 112 lobe center camshaft. 1.6 ford racing roller rockers. comp cam 7.350 length harden push rods , Black magic extreme electric fan, MSD Digital 6AL, MSD igntion coil . MSD 8.5 wires. MSD Billet DIst. Edelbrock performer int. 70mm TB, BBK 76mm MAF. BBK 1 5/8 long tube headers. Off road h pipe, 2 chamber flowmasters, Fidanza aluminum Flywheel, Ford racing aluminum driveshaft, Precision 3.73 gears. LPW rear end girdle. Moser 31 spline axles. Southside lift bars. Grantelli upper control arms. Mac Subframe connectors. Kirban Adj fuel pressure reg, BBK Fuel rail. EV6 24 lb injectors. Mac caster camber plates. Eibach springs. Maximum Motorsports pan hard bar. B&M short shifter, 10,000 rpm nitrous kit (obsolete) now, all wheel disc brake kit. CX racing twin turbo kit ( not install) 8 point roll cage. ( not installed yet) all auto meter gauges, cervini saleen kit. and quite a bit or more things dones such as the under hood dress stuff and interior as well. just recently bought some more needed repair things like parking brake cables. seat repair bracket kit. dash repair bezel kit and about to order new carpet and headliner. Its so many more misc things that needs to be done and repair but LMR has been my number go to store for my foxbody needs.

    I bought my first fox Mustang in 99 and still have it to this day. Rarely drive it but it is nice to know these are going up in value. My buddy had a 85 GT with T-Tops and what really got me to acquire one was when I first heard the Flowmaster exhaust. I was sold. To this day, I never heard a better sounding V8 than a 302 with Flowmasters. Great video!

    10:30 when you started talking about sentimental value its true, my dad had an 87 gt hatch and seeing photos of that car made me wanna go buy one and then i finally found my 91 lx hatch and now my little brother is collecting all 1.64 scale cars of foxbodys because of me which makes me think he will get one too someday. Its something about these cars that are super special that makes everyone want one because they saw someone drive one. Will seriously never forget the day that when i finally got my first car 2 years ago and i was driving around and some guy in a cammed loud foxbody rolled up and i was just in awe as my car shook next to his because how loud it was, that memory and my dads 87 are why i have a foxbody mustang

    Thank you guys @late model restoration for supplying great parts. I got my 1986 last year and ive been waiting 13 years to buy it. Sat in a barn for 25! Original 38k miles. Unfortunately the motor was blown up qnd it got replaced with a new high output 402. Did a cam,full lenth headers, Edelbrock Victor x, Holley dominator ,billet distributor and alot more! Full custom fuel system. All parts sourced from lmr. Blew the transmission up with the new motor. Put a brand new clutch kit and transmission back in. Now im rebuilding the rear end with your guys yukon axles!keep up the good work on parts supply. Ill be back for alot more.

    I’m 20 years old with my own foxbody I’ve had for about a year now and I can honestly say these cars are truly amazing from paint to springs. I’m in the process of converting my 2.3 into potentially a V8 or even better but it’s a slow process for sure it’s a journey I have had a lot of turns with but I don’t think I could ever let it go for any price unless it was another fox lol.

    I’m a product of the 60s and have a soft spot for the muscle cars of the heyday. Every manufacturer had something cool to drool over and I was a fan of a bunch of them but the Mustang was always my favorite all around. Through the years I’ve had 31 of them from a 66 Coupe on up. I currently own a new Mustang GT with some bolt ons, and 2 Foxes; a four eye Coupe and a 91 GT. It’s a hobby I’ve enjoyed for most of my life and thanks to LMR for helping !!!

    I bought brand new off the lot Regatta blue Mustang LX with the GT options. I asked for a rear window defroster and a cruise control. I heated the 5.0 emblems up with a blow dryer and pulled them off. On the back I redid the Mustang emblem to read- MustBeA302. I killed 3 transmissions in the first year, under warranty and they hated to see me. I had so much fun street racing with very minor mods as most people ran stock back then. 27 MPG on the highway and would screech the tires at 65 if you dropped to 2nd and a quick upshift to 3rd. My sisters kid saw it at a 4th of July party, so I did some burnouts with my nephew and his friends watching. By the Thanksgiving party, there where 5 other Mustangs in the hood, LOL. Ah yeah, the good ol days

    I got my license about the time the GT40 dealer package hit the cruising streets. Mustangs already had the power to weight ratio that got police dept's to consider using them for pursuit, but here in the snow belt you only had older cars known for their performance--the 1970's was the spoiler and stripe package era. You had to prove your King Cobra or 1980 Z28 or 1979 Dodge Charger from that era deserved its place in meritocracy. But the Foxbody was like the 1964 GTO, which was affordable compared to 409 Impalas and 427 Galaxies of 1964. Then Ford added in the GT40 parts program, and it was like 1955 with Chevy's Power Pack program. Now you didn't have to worry about buying a part that didn't fit your low deck Windsor because it was meant for a Cleveland or a Midland or a tall deck 351W.
    when they became used, they had a 4 link suspension, light weight, and there were a plethora of speed parts out there. Again, like owning a 55 chevy during the early 1960's--you could give the early muscle cars a run for their money if you knew how to turn a wrench. And everyone knew what you owned a Mustang for--not because you could carry engines home in the hatchback, not because the four banger got good gas mileage. You bought it to build it and have the faster car in school or at work. It was testosterone on four wheels.

    The following of the Fox Body is huge. I graduated HS in 1990 and had a few friends that had the 90 LX notch. My HS crush got a new 90 Saleen Mustang for her graduation present from her dad. That made her an even bigger crush and I wasn't sure if it was her or the car at that point. I'm fortunate enough now to own a 92 LX Notch my pops owned and sold back in 2019. I found the buyer and bought it back after my pops passed away last year. It only has 83k miles and looks great in my 3rd garage bay. The joy of firing up the 5.0 with Magnaflow straight pipes is insane. Def one of the best muscle cars I've ever owned.

    I’ve had a bunch of foxes!!! From a four eyed 1984 gt turbo hatch to an 88 gt vert then several coupes, gt’s and even a 1993 5.0 black with black interior coupe I let go of because it was a project at a bad time in my life🤦🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️ but now have a rare 1985 factory T-Top coupe with capri fenders as a roller I’m fixing up to keep👍🏻👍🏻

    My mother ordered a 1981 mustang Ghia with V8 engine, T Roof, air conditioning . The price was $8,000.00 plus. She loved the car. We had the car restored, mainly cosmetic, still has original parts, the body is in good condition. Today the car has less than 94,000 miles. It’s a gas hog, about 18 to 19 miles per gallon. I find interesting to see how you folks like the fox body mustang as many times when I mention the car, many people thing is not an interesting car. Good to know that they are appreciated by some.

    Great fox video fella's i wrenched on many in ford dealers and i bought new a silver/gray 2 tone 89 gt manual and a new 90 sho taurus on the same note and payment and a new 90 f-150 on another payment all from jim skinner ford in b'ham, al.. Bitch was they sold fords cheaper than the dealer i worked for as skinner was a high volume dealer. Both the sho and gt were fun drivers, the f-150 was a $10,990 out the door 300 i-6 5 speed manual xlt.. The dealer i worked for threatned to fire me for not buying from them but when i said fine an hit them with a i'll contact my lawyer they cooled down. they sold the same truck asking 16,000 were i paid 10,990 as they would come down from msrp. Also adding the fraudulent addendium sticker crap selling customers floor mats that came in the car to start with, fake cloth and paint protection and the old etched windows scam, all this shoved up your A$$ without grease for an addional 3,600 bucks over msrp. i would have paid $15,000 dollars or more from them on the same 3 vehicles 5000 each more plus gobbs more in interest.

    The reason is Dennis Collins selling his collection on Barrett Jackson. Now every guy with a half clapped out 89 GT thinks he has a 10k ride. What they fail to realize is that his cars were very low mile and low number low mile specialty cars, also sold at the biggest car auction on the planet to millionaires.

    • @nothanks81
      @nothanks81 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Truth... $500 rollers became 3-5k over night. Still find my fair share of clapped out ones cheap but most " clean" ones I've looked at still need thousands in repairs.

    • @bobfalfa76
      @bobfalfa76 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@nothanks81 Yep, before that auction aired you could get a very decent Fox Body for $3,500 to $4,000(around here anyway) and a damn near mint one for 7, the next day they doubled in price. Now I see extremely rough ones that haven't ran in years and don't even roll for 3 grand.
