Your Point number 2 is why so many women just reject me without even giving me a chance to know me further once they find out my current finances contradicting your point number 3 on getting to know a man first before deciding to date. The woman I want as a man and most men would truly want to know me first and check my character, heart, beliefs, values, spirit, mind, and more still placing emphasis on my current life goals and finances but not making them the first thing to go by. Everybody has standards, boundaries, and expectations & also everybody has their personal preference. I was taught that men are supposed to financially provide. Just move on. I had developed feelings for my long term best male friend. Because I didn’t choose him in high school, even though he never said anything about feelings back then or present day, he doesn’t want to have anything but a friendship. Woman's perspective on the point regarding viewing a man as a better/self not good enough. Remember it can be anything, not just "scandalous life". I am generally being hit on quite a few men YET the one I like I am simply afraid of getting together with because in my mind I'm too fat for him. Will he think differently? Maybe. He's cool with me with the clothes on. Am I willing to give it a shot? No. I don't want to feel not attractive. I'd better keep him as a friend. So her self-esteem can also play a role. You think of you're not contributing by casually saying that you like this or this type of a woman (e.g. big breasts - when she wears push up bra so nobody is aware how small her breasts are, or you said you love women with clear skin - and she's got some skin problems not visible "for friends", etc.)
If you made such comment she might think she is out of your league, while the thing that prevents her from starting a relationship with you can be trivial.
